@DimitarUnbreakable The answer is simple: Offline singleplayer game required constant internet connection to external server or you can't play it. Ubisoft didn't mention in their PR that this would happen (pretty obvious to everyone it would, but Ubisoft said it would be impossible to either cause the servers to crash or that the servers could crash due to a network stress). Hence it's a "hidden feature". And of course the title has its own rickroll-effect.

The reason why this video receives so many dislikes is that those who has either PS 3 or XBOX version of the game didn't suffer from the DRM, because it was only in the PC version.

If you want to know more, google "Ubisoft DRM shitstorm". The server crashed constantly after the release of AC 2, and no one who had the PC version of the game was unable to play it. I was not able to play it on the first 3 days or so, and after that I had daily disconnections (Game auto-quits).

Luckily for us (the paying customers) Ubisoft abandoned their DRM; now their PC games only require online activation during installation (And because internet connection is readily available I have very little against this. For example steam games does it too). Still; Ubisoft is the purest form of evil on gaming industry... Pity that Ubisoft owns so many above average franchises (However, they are masters of making them crap: Silent Hunter, IL, Splinter Cell, and so on).

Far Cry 2 is another good(ish) example. Try to get Far Cry 1 and compare it to Far Cry 2. :)

Lets hope they don't F-up AC franchise, because it is one of the best in the series (except they broke the fighting system after AC 1; you can just keep blocking and counter everything [almost] automatically. It was way harder in original Assassin's Creed).

@Gekkibi I know, but there kind of is. You are forced to update with patches and "updates". Updates do nothing but give you more glitches, which sucks :( So then more patches are needed! Or sometimes updates prepare for DLC, but that's there only good use. But if you do refuse to update/patch PS3 version, it signs you out of Playstation Network. This isn't good for Assassin's cREED Brotherhood, because it has online play! Well I guess hI don't have it nearly as bad as you, you can't play at al:(

My pc has that problem, I bought Assassin's Creed II and when I was going to play, it didn't appear that part to put the CD-Key because it sayed that Ubisoft Servers where Down :( And now with Brotherhood I want to play Online but probably i will not be able) :( what is strange is that my brothers pc detects their servers and we have both Windows 7. Mysterious are the ways of the uShaft. I am not sure how they divide customers to different authentication servers. Might be that you are (or your computer is) using different server for authentication than your brother (or your brothers computer).

Or might be that you have blocked some ports the DRM requires.

- It doesn't work because your computer can't connect to their server. Options: It is because of your computer, it is because of your ISP or Ubisoft has problems with their servers.

- You can't make it work until Ubisoft removes the DRM. Meanwhile you can start boycotting Ubisoft.
