what a pleasant rendition of cold cold heart. the first song i ever sang was cold cold heart when me and Dad was camping. Hank is worldwide and I am glad of it. kudos @ ya from the hills of arkansas.
I Been A Listener Awhile Of Yours, The Great Sounds Of Your Pedal Steel Dave is un-real..
All my life since young a kid ive been Captured By The Steel.
It Creates so much passion and feeling into country music. The country music of todays times seems dead without a pedal steel . You are raising it from the dead again I would tip my hat for yah any day.. cheers from west australia
Dave, I am just getting started on the pedal sttel..Sho Bud pro with Peavey Nashville 1000. Somewhere here on you tube I heard someone mention a Band in a box for back up. Do you recommend this. I don't know what you use but it's sounds great. Thanks Sho Bud
wow,, i just came across u today,,and growing up,, most the music my parents listen'd to had the steel guitar,, i love it,,,, i didn't have a youtube account till now,, i had tomake one so i could say something,, it is great,, keep it up :)
Okay if you like this then you will SLOVE (super love) Robert Randolph!!! Robert Randolph is THE BEST pedal steel guitarist I have ever heard! He just came out with a new CD and it’s AMAZING! His solos of him rocking out are to die for! When I listen to his music, I can feel every note, The music really just runs through your body and there aren’t too many artists I can say that about!! Check him out! You won’t be anything less than AMAZED
It's hard to beat a Hank Williams tune.....I live about 85 miles south of Montgomery, Alabama which Hank considered home. There is a Hank Williams museuem there with some interesting displays of his personal belongings as well as the Cadillac he died in up in West Virginia. Hank had spina bifida which caused him pain constantly, leading to his self medication with alcohol and pain pills.
hello dave, you're a very good steel player. My mother is deceased for 6 years ago and have missed her songs, now after 6 years I hear from them again is almost crying hahaha. Thanks so much best regards fedor
I record with people from all over the world via computer. My tracks are a little of this and that. All derived from the internet. Sure would be great to have you play a couple riffs on a few.
Hi Gary. Boss DD-2 pedal and a Boss RV-2 for reverb. Goodrich pedal was used on that video. I bought a HILTON and thoroughly recommend it. It is SO much more responsive and sounds even better, (listen to truck driving man). A little alesis microverb is added on the steel too at the mixer. The steel records great straight into the mixer. The is the FIRST steel and only steel I have ever owned that sounds OK like this.. Dont ask me why, but it just works great. Regards, David
I havea discussion going on SGF about how to get a good tone out of a MSA SS D-10. Somewhat asked me what I was looking for in tone... I realized you have it on Your Cheating Heart. Short of buying a Raine, what effect pedals are you using and what model volume pedal? I also agree with an earlier post that you and Mickey are the two best players I have seen on YouTube. Keep 'em coming.
Dave you are colossal,ly great,,how long you been playing with those strings,,truly you are awesome you disappear my stress with that cold cold heart,,thank you..
Thanks Mickey.. Thanks for the offer of an amp in Dallas but I think Bill Stroud is bringing one.. I like the sound of you MODDED one though.. David.. Will you be playing in the MSA booth in Dallas? Or on Main Stage as I think you should be..
Mr. Hartley, You play a tubload of tasteful, beyoutiful steel guitar. Question for you sir: is your inside floor pedal a "Paul pedal",lowering strings #5,6, and 10? Awesome, man.
Hi David: Many players have played this great old classic of Hank Williams but none any better than our friend, David Hartley. You are undoubtedly a Steel guitar player's steel guitar player. You are "TOPS" in my book
Greetings from Maine USA. Dave, you still haven't answered me when I asked you which galaxy you were from (GRIN). "Extremely Amazing" doesn't do you justice.
