This was an Incredible show ! I was there. It was the New Years Eve show 2008/2009 at The San Franciso War Memorial Opera house. This was an amazing place acoustically. The show was in 3D projections behind the band.Everyone was given 3D glasses when they arrived. Zappa Plays Zappa was the opening band and they plated 2 1/2 hours, then Les, who brought out Gaby la La who played Theriman.What a show.Hard to top that one. @tarrochi2012 Could be wrong but I don't think there was 3d at this show, that was next years (far less awesome) new years.

I wish they'd disintegrated their individual bands for the night and just had a Claypool-Zappa jam for 8 hours.

The only thing about this show that sucked worse than Claypool was Fite. ZPZ totally rocked the house, and were why I was there. Knew nothing of Claypool before and tried to have an open mind. Stayed through the balloon drop and bailed at around 12:05. Do like this video for the balloon drop memories though. We were about five rows back in the middle.

Listen msv...I was raised on Zappa, F.Z. was my Dad's hero(as well as mine 4 last 10 yrs), and Ive been a HUGE Primus(Claypool's band) fan ever since I was 13, 14 years old, and they R both very talented groups/musicians.

And Larry Lalonde(Primus guitarist) was taught by the same guy that taught Deweezil... Steve Vai!!

yeah so i thought the WHOLE show rokd..and i experienced it the way it shoulda been seen... les your a genius... i loved it.. thx it was mind blowing.. the 3d was amazing! and the space ship and pumpkin eating the scarecrow at the end was a great comedown.. at the end of the night i had a nice cumpfy les hoodie to wrap up in... thx.. the greatest night of my life ^-^

ps at the end i was watching you through a red balloon.. all you could see was your glistening white form with horns...y-eah..

I was there the first band kinda sucked but les is a BAMF they kicked ass, especially in the monkey mask on the stick, that was my favorite.
