I don't think it's that rational. I think they wanted to do the "person walks into a lamppost because they weren't looking where they were going" idea, but this time the person was looking where they were going, and it was a place especially designated for walking. It doesn't require you to think about it, it's just a quick moment to make you chuckle and it's over so fast that if you don't like it you can just take the next sketch. Like the Fast Show did.

I have two problems with this. firstly, i'm a licence fee payer, i cannot opt out of paying but i am entitled to make a qualitative judgement on the product my money helps to pay for.

secondly, the person who co-wrote this playschool dross is also BBC 3's head of new comedy, and i'm not a huge fan of nepotism.

Thirdly, if you see through my attempt to antagonise, why are you validating it by responding?

Surely this is over the top, when the person you replied to only asked why you comment on all of these if you don't like it?

It's basic slapstick comedy, nothing special, certainly of no comparison to some of our classic comedy, but it's a simple, pointless, clip which makes people chuckle.
