part 3) The only line which Mongols and Turks share these days, and so do the Tajiks, Kazhaks, tartars, Uzbeks, Tuvans, Kyrgyzs, Seljuks, Tibetian, Uyghurs, Koreans, Japanse and Turksman, is the language - NOT THE BLOOD LINE. over the years and due to trade and Mongolian Empire, Seljuk Empire, Golden Horde, Hunnic Empire and so on and so on. they started speaking a commen language - called the Altaic Languages. (official name) (it even includes Korean and Japanese) so NO BLOODLINE !
@jeronvdlaan Tibetian and Tajik have nothing to with altaic languages. Also, Korean and Japanese are very different from the others. There is barely a link except the sentence structure.
@gorilla1003 wrong, and the answer is in your answer already - they have the same sentence structure, although they write with a differen alphabet or hiroglyphs its about the sentence structure and grammar. swedish and german aint the same either, but still the grammar is a like - which counts them into Germanic languages, same with korean, tatjik, turkish and mongolian.
part 2) The Huns and Tartars are a Northern-Mongol race but do not share culture or bloodline with the Mongols themself. ofc, Understand that when tribes fight and conquer new land, they mix up with locals. The Huns are best represented in todays Hungary or Finland. and are part of a sub-Turkish ethinic group called Finno-Ugric. todays Turkey is called Anotolian-Turks and share bloodlines with Kazaks, Uzbeks, Tatjiks which share lines with the Tartars. (who foughts wars against Mongols)
All you people here who claim Mongols are Turkic are idiots, the Mongols are not part of the Turkish-ethnic group. they are part of the Sino-Mongoloid race (present Korea, China, Mongolia, Japan, Tibet.) the Turks are decendent from Tartars just like the Huns. only the Uyghurs. Tuvans & Kyrgyzs are a mix of Mongolian and Turkish Culture & bloodlines. to complete your dream - The Mongols even fought a War against the Turks (Seljuks)
Actually Mongolian based from asian continent, that's true that Turkish were based from Mongolian soil so that Hungarians too, because of they were the one who had been immigrated to Europe so they should be the one who's mixed, We may look different more lighter race then other asians but not like your actors though, that because of cold weather.
And we are not Barbarian, that's nomadic and truth is we never attack to south /China/ they the one been stolen our people lived as a nomadic and turned them as a slave, anyhow that's so strange that other people writing Mongolian history more then actual Mongolians, which their converting to totally different story!! please note and you should at least get one announcer from Mongolian University not someone from other side of earth!
@TheBros900 for that I love Altai&Mongolia :) you are right my friend,Turkic Ugoric and some Mongolic peoples immigrated to Ural,Pannonia and Anatolia..and we may look different more Caucasoid race than other Asians today, but we can't forget to our history, and We are proud to be descendants of Tureg(Gokturks) and Xiong Nu,(Turco-Mongol confederation)..maybe Mongolia is far away than Turkey, but I like your country :)
Most likely they're white actors, due to the length of the series so it was probably cheaper to use the same actors for every depiction of each barbarian episode (if you notice they're all white lol)
1 Its pronounced Chjeang-is Khan not Gainjish Khan or Chingish Khan
2 If you can't hire Mongoloid (Asian) actors then don't even think about making a movie about Mongol Empire or The Greatest Conqueror ever lived Genghis Khan (Chjeang-is Khan)
The Mongols are mongoloid. So are other east Asian groups such as Chinese, Koreans, Vietnamese, Japanese,, and a couple more. This vid has it wrong. Mongols, after visiting myself, don't even look white nor Turkic. And to say they are barbarians is wrong. They were nomads who slowly formed a unified nations...somewhat.
The original Turks were Mongoloids. Muslims were encourage to prepare for Turkish invasions. "Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet(Salallaho alayhay wa sallam)said, "The Hour will not be established till you fight a nation wearing hairy shoes, and till you fight the Turks, who will have small eyes, red faces and flat noses; and their faces will be like flat shields".
All of you lot that are moaning about this video, look past the terrible casting job and actually listen to what the scholars and the narrator have to say, it's actually a pretty good documentary!, and thats what it is, A DOCUMENTARY! it's not a bullshit hollywood film with more focus on looks than storyline. It's definitely accurate, i've read up quite lot on the mongol empire, it's one of my favourite periods in history.
Ok . . . what would be your reaction if a documentary about Camelot employed Pakistanis to portray King Arthur and the Knights of the round table? If it's a documentary about a MAJOR Asian historical figure, then why not use an Asian? The Asian portraying him doesn't even have to be Mongol. The actor could be someone from another central Asian ethnicity. They could even use a Korean or Northern Chinese -- It's not like western audiences can really tell the difference.
I used to like the HC quite a bit (especially when it was the "Hitler Channel") -- hell, I even like the little Green Men bit (they should start the 'paranormal channel'), and while this docu is decent, it still perpetuates the hollywood lie started by John Wayne's potrayal of GK. But what can you expect when it's all about ratings at the end of the day.
I'd forgotten about "The Conqueror". You're right - probably the most absurd portrayal Temujin ever made. Although you've got to give it to that old movie - at least they TRIED to make Genghis Khan look vaguely Asian ...
LOL! I know. All I see in this video are white people with makeup. Even though Khan is shown to have green eyes and reddish hair in Chinese depictions I've seen of him, he still looks unmistakably Asian. I can't believe they couldn't find any Asian actors. What bullshit.
@vuluup06 Sigh how stupid are u? Mongols aren't asians.. Geez. Mongols were of same origin as Europeans. They are slavs, mixed with "asians" as you call them.Thats why they look a bit mixed. Note though, the mongols looked more like europeans back then, than they do now, Since China was a mongol state for a long time, they mixed a bit I guess.
@AnnabelLolita *sigh* wrong.. They are of the same people as the Tattars, A Türcic tribe from the Eurasian Steppes, Türc tribes is spread across the Eursian steppes into the East-Asian steppes, The Mongols being one of these tribes..
@NordenHonor Sigh, Not another clueless. Please don't bother to write if you got no idea what your doing, either way if you read what you just said and then google/search in books for the people you just mentioned, you will see that it only confirms exactly what I said.
@janetGOREton I tell you why Temujin is white. Is b/c the director are White. Temujin going to be black or mexican if the director is black or mexican.
The Mongols were actually mix with Turks, so technically they were white, in fact the Caucasus Mountains where Caucasians (white people) had come from were in large part a mix of Mongols and Turks. That being said, there's nothing wrong with this picture in fact this is exactly how I envisioned it.
@viticoflow1 You are so fucking delusional. Real Turks aka "Goturks" or "Celestial Turks" are not white. They are mongoloid, Tuvans are Turks, Yakut are Turks. Anatolian Turks are heavily mixed with Iranian. I am part Kazakh, but I am Asiatic looking, I am a Turk. However, Central Asia was initially inhabited by Iranian tribes hence the hybridized looks of some Eurasians. For the most part, these initial Iranian tribes were wiped out by "Goturks" and later Mongols. Real Turks are not white
@janetGOREton Given the very hard and loose way Mongols chose their sexual partners when on campaign (willing or otherwise), I doubt one could easily characterize what a "true" Mongol would look like at the present day.
Whatever he did look like though, I bet he could kick your arse.
Uh, NO. All ancient depictions of him show him to be Asian. Him being white is a Hollywood lie perpetuated by those who suffer from the same mental disease as many Afrocentrics.
If that be the case, hen what stops them from being Mongoloid with a mix of Euro and Asian? No one is disputing there has been mixing of blood, but to claim Ghengis Khan, his fellow tribesmen and the surrounding tribes were white or Caucasian because of mixture is ridiculous. By that logic, Barack Obama, Colin Powell and the "Horn of Africa's" population (Somalis & Ethiopians) must be Caucasian too. Check out the "mongolANDtamerlane" channel about GK.
We're talking about Mongols, not Russians. Ethnic Russians are white people (Slav + Norse via Rus) and although some of them show Mongoloid admixture, they still look like white people. Ghengis Khan may have had some Caucasian ancestry (many claim this due to his hair and eye color) but based on the region from which he hailed and historic renditions, he was undoubtedly Asian in appearance. He sure as hell didn't look like Mickey Rourke or John Wayne.
@norseczar27 You want to see real Mongols? Look up Ogedai and Kublai. Ogedai was Genghis Kahn's son and Kublai was Genghis's grandson. They have their portraits painted by the Chinese during their live times so its legit. Ogedai had Mongoloid features with gray eyes, brown beard and fair skin. Kublai however had dark brown eyes and black beard.
@norseczar27 Apparenly not according to most of the artists who painted his portrait, although he is reputed to have had light grey eyes (the portraits I've seen make his eyes out to be dark).
There's plenty of variance though. If he'd gone into Africa, no doubt there'd be a Black version of Temujin as well.
Shhhh! Don't be giving fringe Afrocentrics ideas! If one of them reads your post, don't be surprised if you start seeing videos claiming "Ghengis Khan and his hordes were BLACK!" on Youtube. LOL!
@janetGOREton THey're not white. They're Turkic or Western/Northern ASians. They have light colored hair and eyes. They don't look East ASian but they're still Asian. However, that's not what the Mongols looked like, I agree.
