My 1st job out of High School was working at a convenience store. On Christmas a van pulls up the pumps on fire. I was the one who had to tell a van full of people who don't speak English to move away from the pumps before they explode. The idiots open the back of the van and fire consumed the whole thing. I was able to get them to move forward otherwise I wouldn't be able to type this. Hope that helped your request Nadine.

I'm working my first job right now, at a shoe store. Not just any shoe store, a real B.S. shoe store (shoes for 1$ anyone?) in a kinda guetto part of town, where the mams I work with have been there for like 30 yrs, and quit school after sec 5 (the equivalent of 11th grade). It's not rare that a client who comes in is on social benefit. Get the picture? Working there is absolutely horribly boring.

I only intend to stay there until I get my NSL, that way I can be a lifeguard!

She's very right. Whether someone cleans toilets for a living or is a wealthy investment banker, the job is important to do and needs to get done. Sometimes, people look down on custodians, or janitors, but without them, public bathrooms would be so filthy that no one would want to use them, and would smell terrible. I'm a teacher, and without bus drivers, students would not make it to class.

No one should ever be ashamed of what you do. Times like these, it's good to just have a job.
