Frustrating! In the span of 2000 years, Afghanistan was conquered only 6 or 7 times. Yet, even when they were "conquered" there were strong resistance groups such as the modern day Taliban that made it impossible for the conquerors to have full control. Why does the US government think that they could do something that no other government, empire, or any army has done? It's frustrating to see our "leaders" making decisions in obliviousness to the fact: US CANNOT WIN IN AFGHANISTAN.

I think that the mongols tried and just ended up trying to recruit them because they were so tenacious. But the way I see it is that if someone burnt my country to the ground, occupied it, got rid of my government and its way of doing things (which is what the afghans are used to right or wrong) and then had the fucking cheek to tell me Im free and Im welcome Id go to their country and burn that to the ground.

Because of the stupidity of the dregs we have in the federal government, they have enriched China both economically and technologically so much so that now the Chinese are working quickly to substitute American capital and technology with theirs. I agree Wisdomchmber's commented, and i should mention this that the phrase or the word Talib includes who fight for their freedom, now there is no Talib group; whoever is fighting in Afghanistan agianst US is just a freedom fighters. As Hoh we should accept this that not everyone likes us nor want to be like us. so thye fight for their own freedom. the Democracy that US us defines is democracy for US not for afghans. This democracy is against their culture.

I agree with him completely, but I also fear that while it may have been a longstanding internal civil war, our involvement over the last 8 years has now permanently affixed the US into this conflict.

US has created a big lie in the form of a phrase know as "terrorism". This phrase has no single definition or any periphery. It encompasses all enemies whether legitimate or oppressed. It even includes groups who fight for their freedom, fight against foreign occupation, and struggle against injustice, corruption and oppression. This term has totally tarnished the global ethics and human rights.

I agree with your comment, except that a ton of states are guilty of this, not only the US. Russia (Chechens), China (Uighurs), Turkey (Kurds), UK (Ireland), you name it. It's a good old propaganda term, mostly.

Agree. Now we can just label anyone a terrorist and bomb them. Terrorism is nothing new but the government and media have been cramming it down our throats that we live in some kind of new age of terror and that we should bomb the globe to make it stop. i don't buy it.
