Your'e just making it easier for the clock to wear all its pivots and pivot holes. You may have a nice lubricant as ling as it doesn't turn into plastic later, but you have to take care of the wear first. Your just making it run itself to death. When a clock stops it's saying "something is wrong with me! Fix Me" not "please add oil I want to die"
This is a "demonstration" on superior lubrication. A clock should be properly serviced prior to application of any lubricant. Once our treatment provides diamond coatings pivots, bushing and gears - oil as lubrication is no longer required, as it is the Diamond Coating that protects against metal on metal contact, and lubricates treated surfaces.
i have a wall clock when the pendilum is on the clock it will stop, when i take the pendlum off it goes like the clappers, anyone got any tricks of the trade to get it working again,
It is not hanging level. Don't use a spirit level, listen for an even tick-tock. ie tick...tock...tick...tock. etc if it sounds like tick..tock....tick..tock....tick..tock.... it wont run.
@19591234 The beat is off, it's crutch bound or both. The clock should be level but the movement level is what matters most. Make sure the bob is directly in the middle of the crutch and has some side to side motion. To set the beat bend the crutch left or right until you hear and even beat.
The last thing that tiny little 0.25mm watch oiler was made to do was for brushing that on like that, mon deu!
