Well, I just watched a piece by Keith Olbermann on Tea Party funding by Big Oil, and he seems to have a rather good point. From my experiences with Tea Party fans, it seems they prefer ideology over facts. When you show them facts which don't match their ideology, they are unwilling to listen, or they start to throw insults at you - just like you do.
