when well trained one can pinpoint the location with an avalanche beacons. depending on depth of burial the exact location will have to be verified with an avalanche probe. to use this equipment effectively proper and constant training is a must. digging out the victim is the most time consuming part of the rescue this must be trained extensively as well.
