That being said, there are a lot of animals & people who have survived perfectly fine after being shot in the head, it's not necessarily fatal 100% of the time. Besides, it all depends on the distance the bullet had to travel. It loses velocity the farther away, and a bullet shot from a distance could punch a hole in the skull yet still not injure the brain at all.

Probably punctured its sinus cavity. Ive seen two horses like this - completely fine but a definite hole. One got a bad infection. The owner was VERY inexperienced and I urged her to call the vet but she wouldnt, so I started treating him. 4 days later she called the vet because she thought it would be a good idea to get some meds to keep his temperature down (DUH!). The vet said if I hadnt started treating him when I he, he would have died. I was proud of myself lol.
That made my freaking day! But I must beg to differ, the sheer size of the hole makes me think it may have been either a T-21 light repeating blaster or a Wookie Bowcaster, but I may be mistaken.
