great stuff! thats some one some next level. No homo, but you got ideal physique. Not over done like pure body builders, your physique is like proportioned to your natural structure.
@JOELHATSWELL i dont think anyone is naturally good at handstand pushups lol. I personally started practicing headstands & frogstands until i could do both for a minute then progressed to a minute wall handstand. After that i started taking my feet away from the wall until i could freebalance for 15-20 seconds then kicking up to and holding freestanding handstands. i kept working on my handstands and pushups against the wall and eventually combined them through trial and error!
@E1337Si That's the way to do it. I'm glad that your comment involved honesty and work and didn't sound like "yeah i could do that when i was 5 wit out even practicing I'm so awesome HARHARHAR" as so many of them do. But yeah, I coach gymnastics and doing them against the wall is a great way to learn balance for them.
@teskm i progressed really quickly with handstands. i went from not being able to do a handstand to 10+ freestanding handstand pushups in about 10/11 weeks but thats just my personal experience. Other people will take longer, others shorter. However i've been working on a planche pushups for about 8 months and im still not quite there! it'll vary from one person to the next, be patient and enjoy the ride.
@E1337Si Holy crap. What did you do to get those results? I have a pretty solid HS base but my pushes have always been weak. Did you do GtG or something else? And have you tried doing what oniijin did to get planche push ups?
man , hmany days u took to got enought balance to be able to do handstand push ups? i was trying only to balance but its difficult (havent tried more than 20times but i can understand how difficult it is to handstand and push up at the same time)
WTF!! @ 00:54!!!!!!!!!! duuuude that s**t was top notch.. you gotta check out arash baboo's videos man hes a bar monkey like you.. im a bar monkey in training XD
vague = general, not overly specific*. and no i wouldn't consider my toothpick, just you have to realise that a 17 year old guy in comparison with someone who is nearly 30, and has had 10 years experience of personal training on and off, is always going to appear smaller. but if you have to insult me over the internet you know, i guess it's your choice to do so. just thought you might of had a bit more maturity then that
well when i mentioned the opinion i was referring to the part where you attempt to break me down after saying i've done nothing close to impressive and all that. but if you read the comments they weren't derogatory at all, i was just saying, for ME, not for anyone else, the balancing is the hard bit. i think hes a great athlete based on this video alone, and i wasn't trying to take anything away from him. everyone just seemed to automatically attack me over one vague comment.
alright well you're entitled to your opinion, and you don't need to do a dick about it. but all i said was the balance aspect is the thing which stops me from doing them freestanding, and as for me resembling a toothpick well you'd have no idea how i'm built haha. and i never said i could do 30 freestanding ones by the way, so if everyone can get over their internet-ego's and just enjoy the video that'd be sweet.
yeah well a) it's called having fun, and b) how can you tell what is and isn't athletic when i'm wearing a hoodie and jeans? you can try and make up for your midlife crisis by being a keyboard warrior if you want, but yeah it just isn't very impressive.
mate its the combination! strength - timing - conditioning - balance... they aren't interchangeable but one in the same! too unco = not ready in all aspects...
same i think you miss the point of what i was saying... To balance you are using your shoulder muscles and such - this takes away from your ultimate strength and what not, and cant focus on the things making you able to do em now. you know? It's like saying i am strong enough to do a one handed chin up, i just cant keep my body in position to do one... you are pretty much saying the same as i aint strong enough to do one...?
naa i get what you mean man i didn't mean to seem like a dick about it, what i was trying to say was just because someone can't balance properly doesn't mean they don't have the potential upper body strength to do a handstand pushup. but i get what you mean
That's not necessarily true, but most powerlifters only focus on the powerlifting routine of benching, squatting, and deadlifting.
Olympic lifters can definitely do these if they have the balance, and people who focus on well-rounded strength rather than size (bodybuilding) can pull this off.
Bodybuilders do not train for strength. They train for hypertrophy, which involves higher reps (8-12) with less weight. Recruits lots of slow twitch fiber, but not much fast compared to powerlifters.
Is this in portugal? around the zone of penice or nazare or something ?
