this is a great figure.. and this has been the only full wav of figures i have bought. mainly for the collect and conect Bane and of course for the Robin's.. good wav.. could have done away with Mercury and Johna Hex and added two other Batman charactors.. just me.

I LOVE the look and articulation of this figure... However, it has been ages since I've read the whole Knightfall story arc and have to ask- What is the function of that red dot over the left eye? It's probably the only thing about this suit that I really don't like.

I honestly prefer the look of the original Az-Bat costume.. the second Az-bat was a biy much. He went from looking like a demonic dark Angel to a clunky looking robot.

When he first showed up as batman in Batman 498, he had Bruce's costume but those gloves. In Batman 500, he switched to the armor with the mouthless cowl and the slightly armored cape in the Knightquest storyline (like the Knightfall figure you already reviewed) He changed to this costume in Shadow of the Bat 25, about halfway thru Knightquest, before Knightsend. And on the last page, Shadow of the Bat 30, after exploding, he came out of the water with the blue parts red

I love this figure! Before I even got into comics, my brother handed-down some comics to me. One of them was Batman #500, which is the issue where Azreal first used this costume, and beat bane. I love this figure so much because of its sculpt and look; It's sitting on my desk next to my computer, next to my OMAC and my 'Best of' Deathstroke figures!

Happy to see you reviewing these guys. By my best recollection this is how Azrael looked at the very end of the series. If i remember right, this was how he looked when Bruce finally came back and challenged Jean-Paul for the Mantle of the Bat. Those tubes connected to his forearms basically were rapid fire "batarangs"...much smaller and much "sharper" little "bat" symbol blades that shot out from the gauntlets.

I find it appropriate to have Azreal Batman in this wave. Certainly because of the major roll he played in the Knightfall series.

Cool review. Not a fan of the look, looks really silly to be a Batman (or Batman wannabe).

Also, how does Batman recover from a broken spine? I never understood that.

they are tubes to feed little bat shaped shuriken from the gauntlets. I thought this was the first version and then when he started to breakdown, his costume started to resemble his azrael armor and color.
