Britain's roads are some of the SAFEST roads in the world. Good standard of driving here, with considerate well mannered drivers. No silly tooting of horns in our cities. Don't know about Peru, but every time I go to Spain on holiday, I cringe. Bad coach drivers with an "over-emotional" driver. Same in Greece too.

Ontario has the strictest traffic laws, because of that our accident rate has gone down considerably. Try talking an a cell phone while you drive. If you are seen by police officer they will stop you fine you maybe loose your car. If you speed, you loose your car for 7 days. at $100 storage fee per day, plus the big fine. Drive with know insurance, $5000 dollar fine, depending on if there is an accident.

Driving in Lima isn't that bad compared to other major cities like Mexico City, any city in India or China. But go! they treat americans good and the food is great (lomo saltado, ceviche, aji de gallina, tacu tacu, etc.) The ancestors of of Peru ruled south america before the spanish came and you can feel that strong essence in its culture, only Mexico is comparable.
