  • dudes are watching 764 x 2 hi bar and they are saying you got shit for. I;m thinking you may be lacking some shoulder flexibility but you are my idol bro

  • the beard is epic, the squat is pretty good too lol

  • i dont undrestand how people do this much with a high bar squat... I can barly pull off 225 anymore with highbar, but I can squat well over 315 with low bar :/

  • haha squat suit....plus a high squat equals...pussy, sorry bro

  • @Travisk100

    lets see you squat that

  • @Lakaior i cant squat that, and clearly neither can this guy. friends don't let friends squat high. oh and did i mention the squat suit? yeah thats a pussy move. not saying this guy isn't strong, he's just got shit form and uses a suit. double fail.

  • @Travisk100 Alright. I highly doubt you can lift this weight 2 inches off the rack. So buzz off? Look at the rest of this man's videos. He's a godly beast that pumps out huge lifts. You're a pussy who comments on his videos in between fapping to dickgirl porn.

  • @Travisk100 lol wow dude smh read the articles on this guy hes a fucking beast and could prolly kick your ass with a toe mr keyboard warrior. Id like to see you lift that off the rack...

  • hey john, do you use steroids? I have nothing against them I was just curious if you do.

  • @salawasweet1989 lmao dude....

  • do u need to have your feet that wide when u squat i just wondering

  • @1jmb72 nope just helps with knee pain, push more from the hips.

  • Last monday I maxed out for a 1 rep max on squats, olympic style...then I put two quarters on each side and took it above parallel, for 1, then lowered it slowly to the bars...there's more to strength training than any of you 24hour fitness champs could possibly equate...

  • not low enough, FINE.

but you don't have to stop your workout when you reach a weight that you can squat low enough...put on more weight and get a feel for something that's heavier than your max...that's what MOST of the top strongman and powerlifters do...

  • GREAT EFFORT

    8 plates is enormous

  • not low enough

  • Its parallel. So, it's low enough. It's also probably twice what you can do.

  • does it matter if it's twice what he can do? Bad form is bad form no matter what the weight is. So what since John is super strong good form doesn't apply to him? I guess he is above criticism then huh?

  • Deepkneebend said he didn't go low enough and John went parallel, which is as low as he should go on that lift. It isn't bad form. That was my point. A wide stance is perfectly acceptable based on personal range of motion. He also has his back straight.

I said it is probably twice what he can do, not because John is above criticism. But, because he is above criticism from people who have never been close to that much weight and don't know the first thing about the form required to lift it.

  • I'm not as strong as John, not many people in the world are. And I wont argue whether or not he went low enough here, that depends on a lot of things. But I could easily see why someone would say that. But the reason that I say it's bad form is because he leans forward way too much. I would say that either he lost focus during the lift or it's a little too heavy for him. You can still lift super heavy weight with great form and I am sure John does, just not in this video.

  • With that much weight, I would argue it isn't even possible not to bend as much as he does there. I am not a physics major, but with that much weight, if you didn't lean forward that much, you wouldn't have enough weight to counter the pull of the squat. I could be wrong on that though. If you ever find someone able to lift that much weight without bending much, I would love to see it.

  • Check out Derek Poundstones videos. He has a squat vid on here with weight in this neighborhood, a little less I think but not much with picture perfect form. Leaning forward too much puts your lower back in a potentially dangerous position and truthfully anyone who squats does it here and there if they really push themselves. I'm not knocking John for it because I really doubt he does it like this all the time. But it's just that I can see why people would criticize him on this video.

  • It all depends on how you're built. You can lean forward as long as the weight is still balanced right.

  • Weak Legs

  • wow amazing job. i dont wanna seem like i know more than u because i definitely do not, but it seems like your back is bending over a little too much and im worried u might injure yourself and not be able to do your crazy deadlifts. try looking in to it and ask a few pros

  • Not bad!

  • Nice work... I actually have an uneven squat stance very similar to yours.

Are you thinking about doing a powerlifting meet?

  • 26.... destroy machgines ;)"?

  • looking powerful john!

  • Throw those shoes in the trash dude. Get some chucks. You don't want squishy ass tennis shoes while squatting. Looking better form though.

  • nice due. real brute strength!
