  • A true sign of "southerness" Duke's mayo in your video :) thanks for the idea. Just found you & I'm enjoying your video.

  • I just made some a few hours ago and they smell and look great only took about 10mins start to finish :)

  • you could even leave the lids on & poke holes in the lid with a drill, knife, etc for a longer lasting effect :D

  • @jenii91188 Great idea!

  • I'm making these for all the ladies in my family as a Christmas gift this year. I'm doing baby powder, peach mango, sugar cookie, and spiced apple scents. I hope they turn out.

  • @suckonthisemokids Did they turn out okay?

  • @changingmyself They came out great actually. I had a little bit of trouble with the gelatin at first but I got it figured out and all 16 of them came out great!

  • @suckonthisemokids Did they last a long time?

Ty very much for your answers!

  • @changingmyself They last about a month from what I can tell.

    NP.

  • Jolene, this is an awesome video I laugh all the way through. Just watching it one time is not enough;)

I made three of them with our girls spicy apple for two and Ocean for the third. Have yet to decorate them I am sure they will be just as cool as yours.

I featured the video on my blog bar for the week

Will get photos posted when they are complete.

Thanks Jolene they really are cute little gifts.

  • Hmmm...how about floral scent (Gardenia?) with silk Gardenias inserted, so it looks like a little pot of flowers?

  • How do you make this using the genatin sheets?

  • i have the gelatin sheet how do i make this with the sheet?

  • This is my next project

  • i did this but i didnt have any food coloring so i just completely covered it, i also used natural oils!

  • Walmart has some scented oils that smell AMAZING!!! They're only $2 too. Their linen scent smells exactly like clean cotton from Yankee. I have to try this with that scent... I bet it will be awesome :D

  • @daphnener I know right, they have AWESOME smells there, but have you noticed on the back it says no contact with skin..... it doens't matter you don't eat it anyway.

I made one with apple pie scent :))))

  • Jolene:

With your gelatin air freshners, do you need to use a wick or does it just smell good without lighting a wick?

  • Jolene:

With your gelatin air freshners, do you need to use a wick or does it just smell good without lighting a wick?

  • @missarcene you could do both :))))) I did, it worked awesome BOTH ways!!! :)

  • This is great! Thanks Jolene. You crack me up.

  • how long do they take to sit-up?

  • OMG!!! You are a hoot and SO full of super ideas!!

  • LMAO @ "If you're Indian, or you just like the nature look!" - Good concept and an interesting idea!

  • I love this video. I will be making these for my home. And you are right those air fresheners are so darn expensive. I can have my kids make them with me. This would be a great project for my sunday school class. Thanks a bunch Mrs. Jolene Keep up the good work.

  • This was so cool! I think my students will enjoy making this :)

  • I want the seascape fantasy!

  • Great instructional video Jolene! I would like to refill my expensive glade scented oil. I found some 1$ refills at Dollar Tree but they don't fit my glad oil plug-in. I don't want to pay a dollar for their dispenser. Is there a solution for that? I can't get the lid off to refill it! Please solve this problem for me!

  • how many jars of babyfood does each saucepan make

    Tammy

    jGladwater, Texas

  • I am going to try and let you know if I like it = ) Thanks !!!

  • I am going to try and let you know if I like it.....Thanks = )

  • So awesome! THanks ms sugarbaker! :)

  • Ok so my friend and I attempted to make this item and it never firmed up? So like what did we do wrong?

  • @Comile05

The same thing happened to me. It firmed up some but not all the way. If you tip it over it will slowly slide out. I am thinking that I didn't let the gelatin dissolve all the way before I took it off the stove.

  • Can you add anything in the gelatin like shells, or those little different glass rocks you get in a bag while it is setting? I love this idea.

  • What a great idea! A lot of those store bought fresheners smell nasty. Spring Rain might smell more like public restroom.

I have everything I need...just need the oil.

I'll let you know how I decorate it.

    Thanks so much, Jolene.

    Jane

  • Hi Jolene. Thanks for your great ideas. I am a big fan of drag races ... Is there any flavour I can use to make my trailer smell like burned tires?

  • These Gelatin Air Fresheners Are amazing!

  • so do they last a while or do you have to throw it way like after a few months?

  • Every year when I renew my lease I give my neighbors in the building small gifts. This year I'll be giving them gel air fresheners. I bought scented oils in citrus, lavender and apple /cinnamon scents and I've started saving my pimento jars. Thanks, Jolene.

  • Anyone know a good place to buy the oils? Please message me. I didnt see them in any of my dollar stores.

  • Try GNC. I have found lots of essential oils there. They can be pricey

  • Jolene, I should have known you would have done this. I was thinking about doing this as a craft, googled it, and do you know you were the first thing on google? hahaha I should have known! I am going to be doing this hopefully soon and will link up to your video :) Thanks so much!

  • silverscreamgrl!

OOOOH! You could make Hawaiian themed ones!!

Someone got me to taste this jelly they brought back from Hawaii, said it was Magic Three Taste Jelly... each time you tasted it... you were supposed to taste a different flavor... I told her I tasted a $12 souvenir jar of Jelly...

    Love You!

  • LOL!!!! I've gone to one of those jam/jelly tents at the swap meet at the Aloha Stadium. They are very expensive, but most are good. I know exactly the one you are talking about. I may have tasted two things, the smooth going in and a little bit of a burn, but that's about it. I left without jelly and continue to leave without jelly, but it sure is fun taste testing!!

  • Love these Jolene and we love you in GA. I made mine in Cinnamon, Vanilla, Lavender, Sweet Pea, and Bay Rum. I can't wait to give them as gifts. I also want to feature them at my next craft's festival with my handmade soaps. You're the greatest Jolene.

  • cleogtw!

    Ooh, I like Lavender!

I like to cook with it too...

    Thanks for stopping by..

  • Can we put juices from fruits and natural things in it to scent it?

  • YaoMingLily!

It could start to grow nasty things in them if you used Fruits and Natural items to scent them, and attract bugs.

There are however natural oils and scents that should work.

    Love,

  • 2 ways to make this recipe more environmentally friendly:

    1. make sure to use vegetarian gelatin

  • Got my baby food jars, gelatin and scented oil (lavender)!

  • I'll have to say, though.. I had to buy new jars and I just can't stand the taste of baby food. Any idea what to do with the contents besides pouring it out? I've tried eating it, but it's just too... sour.. Babies eat this crap? O.o

  • SilentStickFigureThr!

Baby food can replace some of the water/moisture in many cake recipes..

However, I have something coming up real soon..
