  • Yeah it's Jakuzzi, came out on GRP in the 90s

  • @PerryHemus this one was from 1980 on creole records, must of done a re issue

thanks for the comments will look that one up.

  • It's a band called Jakuzzi and the track is called "Ricochet"

  • can i ask how you know this, and many thanks years waited to find out

  • Yep , no problem .

I bought the record when it first came out .I was a huge Brit Funk fan at the time and collected loads of tracks .I originally wanted to be a DJ before I got into actually making music .

Glad I could solve the issue , shame you had to wait so long .

    Cheers

    Stu

  • Nice one fella! Lawence over a year mate.lol

  • wow thats a problem , blank label , ha ha , its not morrisy mullen cause jim mullen (gtr) playes a tele with his thumb , this guy uses a pick , lol

  • Americas?

  • Comment removed

  • I had this track on an LP. Try Miles Davis, Lonnie Eustin Smith, Roy Aryes, I will search as it's now go me thinking. Keen Jazz Funker

  • Could be something by Morrisey Mullen

    or Mezzoforte or Casiopea

but do not know for definate.

  • hope you findout who the artist is,sorry i couldn't help.peace & love.

  • nice track, sounds a bit like breakfast band, got that la14 sound or maybe the inversions.i've not heard this track and i've been into brit funk, jazz funk since day one.

  • so has Chris Hill and he does not know the track?

  • Good track, must be a brit jazz/funk band, possibly Paz, Breakfast band, or Touchdown, I wish I had a copy, good luck and keep searching.

  • not breakfast band, i have almost all there stuff and i would say Paz is a long shot but you never know?

  • More than likely Brit jazz funk. Or poss Japanese.

Have you tried searching for the release ref. On the run in. For some reason a lot of this style came out as white label promos only.

  • al di meola?

  • I thought it might be Fatburger but it's got that Brit funk thing going on. Is it at the right speed ?

  • hahaha, yes it's the right speed

  • charles ealand perhaps?

  • or even Earland...

  • yes and its driving me nuts! I'm trawling through Larry Carlton, Faze One, Shakatak, MC Mastercuts Jap Jazz compilations, Jeff Lorber, all sorts. I think you have a very rare import there by a one off trio or 4 piece consisting of master like Lee Ritenour, george Duke, Harvey Mason and people like that but for the life of me I can't put my finger on it. For sure I've never heard it but its brilliant (coming from a 43 year old Funkateer)!!!!!!.

  • Lee Ritenour?

  • about the best call to date, but if it is it's not one i know or one others know and i would have thought a track this good would of come to light by an artist as good as him.

  • Freeez?

  • No, i wish it was that simple

  • Rah Band perhaps.

  • No not the Rah Band,

  • Could be Caseopia (japanese jazz funkers)

or an outside chance it's Mezzoforte (icelantic Jazz funkers)

  • not jap that's for sure, and i have most of Mezz 's stuff it ain't them, and this i got around that time. other top DJ's including Chris Hill do not know this track so i think it has to be a band trying to break the ground or a collusion of artists

  • Could it be a demo copy by the Breakfast Band??

  • good call, but i can't see it.

  • Sounds to me like an very early tape from LEVEL 42. Listen to the Bass

  • defiantly not L42 but i hear what your sayin'
