I was there! It was like watching history in the making. I had spotted Boston's own national hero Ronnie Earl in the audience far back and had asked him if he might go up. Humble as always, he seemed embarrassed being spotted and said "we'll see but i think so" with a naughty kids smile. Thanks for posting this.
Darrell was nice enough to share some harp playing hints at Poor David's Pub 29 years ago. I've always wanted to tell him again, thanks. Anson was a real nice guy also.

man, that band shell works, the detail in the sound on this is amazing, wild. soulful to the bone AND you can hear every detail. i guess the guy shooting the video was blocking that woman's conversation from making to the stage. people.
I think this is "Ronnie Earl & The Broadcasters feat. Anson Funderburgh" rather then Anson & The Rockets as you're headline says. Darrel where the singer with Ronnie and the boys back in the early nineties, so he can go with "the Broadcasters" ;-)
Actually, it was billed as an "Anson And The Rockets Reunion". Ronnie was an invited guest that day. Sam Meyers had just died ,and Darrell was as you probably know the original singer in Anson And The Rockets. Mudcat Ward on bass and Per Hanson on drums did make it seem ,as it was, just as much a Broadcasters reunion. A great treat. I got to open for them and talk with them a bit. Ronnie and Anson together playing off each other. Unreal.
I miss seeing Anson and the Rockets
