Today i just finished this game on Easy Riddle and Easy Action mode,i got the leave ending,with 4 stars and about 20 kills by shooting and 60 kills with fighting.And i spent one minute in the boat scenario.Next time ill play this game on Normal Action and Normal Riddle.

Pyramid Head was just fanservice in SH4, and wasn't directly related to SH2. It's why they used the name 'Bogeyman' instead of 'Pyramid Head'.

It isn't physically a copy of James but as PH IS just a manifestation of a number of James emotions and feelings, one would assume that PHs appearance is that of James.

When James kills Eddy, another Pyramid Head appears in SH. That's because James' guilt and hatred towards himself is greater than before he had killed Eddy.

When the PHs killed Maria, it was basically them telling him to forget about Mary and move on with his life, and to stop hating himself wfor what he had done.

The PHs commited suicide as a direct response to James forgiving himself though. Them commiting suicide pretty much represents James forgiving himself for the crimes he had commited.

The first PH represents the murder of Mary, and the second represents the murder of Eddie.

The SH James' sees is his own personal hell, so he wanted himself to be punished so he created PH.

PH doesn't exist in any other form of SH, he's unique to James' vision, except SH: Homecoming, where PH is only fanservice.

James' fighting Mary (who is really just Maria) is symbolic for him finally achknowledging her death. James' entire trek into Silent Hill was him being in denile that Mary may still be out there somewhere alive. He created Maria because she was his "perfect" replacement.

You have to remember that when James' first entered SH, he had repressed memories... as he had only just killed Mary despite him saying it had been "Years". He didn't realise he had murdered Mary up until a certain point...

With James he's extremely sexual and violent, where Alex he's more like Valtiel and much more passive. Then there's The Butcher who shares characteristics of Pyramid Head.

While Pyramid Head first appears in the game as James' desire for punishment, his initial idea belongs to The Order as their Executioner. So his appearance in Homecoming is 100% valid, not just fanservice.

The series had passed over to a new company by Homecoming, and, judging by the quality of Homecoming, it was a quick job. I hardly think they thought it into detail that much.

They wanted something that every would instantly identify off the bat as SH, and Pyramid Head does the job perfect.

The only reason Pyramid Head appeared the way he did was because James saw a photo of Jimmy Stone in his executioner garb and automatically used that image to conjure up the manifestation in the 2nd installment. Whether they actually meant for it to be fanservice or not doesn't really deny the fact that his appearance is still valid with considerations to The Order and how it operated. If it was fanservice, then call it a happy accident.

@ZabitijRin I always naturally assumed that the helmet wasn't literally there in the sense of PH being an executioner.

The helmet he wears is a torture device (the inside of the helmet contains spikes, which is then forced onto the head of the person, killing them), so in a sense the helmet represents the torture in the same way James is torturing himself for his killing of Mary, his pain and suffering, is another way to put it. PH is as much a victim in SH as James is.

What really kinda does the whole executioner thing for me was when he killed Maria before the Double PH Whammy. I know nothing about the internal workings of the helmet but I'll take your word for it. Either way, I'll probably never play SH2 by myself again.

Actually, I believe that the Bogeymen in Homecoming is sort of a different being. A personification of the Shepherds hate towards his father, since Bogeyman ignores Shepherd. They appearence are also "slightly" different. with the Bogeyman even sharper, but more akin to the movie Pyramid Head...

Another fun fact: While Pyramid Head's appearance is partially a reference to the executioners you see in the museum painting, it's also suppose to resemble a phallic shape(the helmet is colored while the apron is white, remind you of something?) That's why the movie PH's helmet makes no sense, and why he rapes the other monsters.

1. Err, yes Homecoming does, have you even played it? The 1st half or so of the game is in Sheperds Glenm, and the 2nd half is in Silent Hill.

2. Shattered Memories isn't a remake (once again, have you even played it?) it's a re-imagining, and completely different from Silent Hill 1.

Like it or not, Downpour is Silent Hill, Konami call the shots, it's their series. The Arcade version is hardly an installment. It's an arcade, and a rail-shooter. Nothing similar other than the name.

The Pyramid Head James sees is there to torment him, and only him. Otherwise, it wouldn't have followed just him throughout Silent Hill 2.

The helmet could represent James' guilt for constantly torturing himself for the murders he had commited. Which is why when he forgives himself, the PHs commit suicide... because he's no longer feeling guilt or feeling like he has to be tortured for his crimes. So the PHs are no longer needed.

Because in the game Silent Hill 1, it's snow that you see falling, not ash... and the fog was created by Alessa to shroud the town from the good self she created (Harry's daughter Cheryl), and to stop her from ever coming there -- to protect her "good side". Also to prevent Dahlia scheme from progressing any further.

In the game, there aren't coal fires burning underground. The film isn't canon to the games.

@SupaKillah666 Homecoming was based off of the Movie in a sense, because the team who developed Homecoming didn't develop any of the previous games. So they just took some ideas from the film and adapted them to the game.

It makes no sense when comparing it to SH1's storyline, and that's why a lot of hardcore fans... to put it simply, detested Homecoming.

Decent game, but definitely not canon to the original series developed by Team Silent.
