The only wage gap there is, is the fact that men are more likely to work in dangerous, dirty, and noisy jobs than women. Those jobs pay more than average. Also, men are more inclined to work overtime, and on average work more hours a week than women.
Men don't take off maternity leave, which makes their potential life income even more.
These are the only real factors of "wage gap".
