Yeah, but it is only a 5MB file. It's a plugin for the Web-Browser. When you are playing the training game, your maps and stuff are downloading.

Not many people are online at any given time. Mainly because it is still in a closed beta state. Right now (11:45pm) there are 100 people online.

I appreciate their effort but the performance is poor at best.

I suggest you try Warsow. Far better free game. Also based on heavily modified Quake 2 engine.

The games are quite similar so by it being shit as that means warsow has to be pretty shit as aswell. IMO Quake 3 Cpma is a decent amount better not saying Warsow is shit though.

This answers alot of questions that I've been dying to know, such as whether or not the controls will be customizeable and if you'll be able to change your video options. Quake Live will be my main game for an incredibly long time. If they happen to open up the ability to invite people to the beta, please shoot me an invite, I'd kill to play.
