Yes there is, especially deathcore. Deathcore overuses breakdowns and retarded squeals, combines it with watered down death metal and all the hardcore kiddies think they're listening to death metal. It's also turning bands that used to good to shit (point in case, Cryptopsy). Deathcore is the cancer killing death metal, and unless this fad dies out soon I fear for the continued existence of good death metal.
