I could easily get a 2,000HP streetable car with a call to NRE (and admittedly, a serious cash infusion) for less than the cost of a Veyron. While numbers in the most extreme levels of supercars will continue to be extreme. The R8 is a *budget* supercar, it's quite fast, but isn't catastrophically expensive to buy or maintain. Can it go 500Kmh? No. Will it get you in trouble? Yes.

I'm gonna disagree with ALL of you. 1). Car looks great EXCEPT for the grill. I like it all black and don't want to see grey lines - it detracts from the sexiness of the headlights. 2). Don't like the exhaust sound. It would sound great on an American muscle car but just seems out of character with this sophisticated vehicle. I prefer the original exhaust note (hey, if it's good enough for the Gollardo, it's good enough for the R8). 3). I will agree the rims suck though.
