concept. more of this crap B S Motorcycle cars. in order to save money on gas we have to beable to buy the the thing, T-REX is just that a motorcycle for 75000 thats BS
so far China has made these thing for years. But cant get one here in the U.S I hope China Makes a copy of that T-REX an sell it for 7 to 10000 or less
Looks nice. What happened to your 3 GREEN WHEELS blog site? Seems to be in a state of disrepair (a bit like the Fly the Wind debacle? Sorry -- but that disappointed a lot of folks).
I know one thing right off--not important to the effeciancy, or the innovation, or any of the other big technology about the car----it's not goanna sell well without a wondow you cn roll down for drive-thru/teller access. Or just for fresh air, being able to hange your elbow out the window. And it better have some climate control and a stero system. Seems petty at first, but think about driving to the sonic or to the bank/teller, and having to open the door, way over the level of your head.
@kdc43 Buckminster Fuller's Dymaxion car had rear wheel steering (on one wheel) rather than the two front wheels like this machine. There are videos on YouTube if you search 'Dymaxion'. Additionally there are plenty of recumbent cycles (tricycles) which have a similar setup as this vehicle although of course human powered. The beauty in this vehicle is that you would stay dry when it rains, it would be great fun to drive and I'm certain it would be economical to run.
Thing is you will need everyone in the city to have a car like that. You cannot mix them with traditionnal cars; because of the riks. It wil avoid accidents mostly to have the same car with the same speed with the same strengh. That will probably never happen...
Great concept. I think most people on here are missing the point. In countries such as China and India this is what they need...fast! Cheap to build and repair. More useful than a bicycle, safer and more user friendly than a motorbike. Anyone could drive it.
i wouldn't consider this safer than a motorbike, this is more likely to kill someone it's big and has poor visibility motorcycles are small and have good visibility
@dustziggy Don't be silly.. this is far too extravagant and expensive for India. The Indians are so resourceful, they can move a wardrobe and seven kids using a couple of dirt-cheap scooters. They don't need this. This doesn't even have room for the Mother-in-law and the goats! :D Seriously, the makers of this vehicle would not mass produce it for a couple of hundred dollars a piece.
It kinda remind me of the Messerschmitt kr200 for the overall design. Especialy the flap doors. I totaly agree this car could be a good urban vehicle, but can you give somme precision about the cargo volume?
its nice in urban but me i need 2hour to make it to a town so that would be shit 4 me, n if u want something like that but goes faster go see the t-rex same thing but with a hier motor
Add another battery in parallel and you get to add the amp hours, and increase the range Thundersky Batteries has 40 amp hour batteries that are very small
It would be easier if the safety standards weren't so tough. I think alot of electric cars have 3 wheels because the safety standards aren't as strict on motorcycles. If I made an electric car, I would try to register it from the 70's so it could be lighter. like Lotus Europa if they weren't so expensive.
If they made this with a 125cc engine I would buy 2 of them. I already ride my 50cc scooter on nice days. This thing would make it possible to commute all year long.
Very cool car. The initial price of 10 grand doesn't seem to bad (not too great either) but that battery "rental" seems kinda ridiculous. Especially since if something were to break on this I bet it would be a bitch and expensive to have repaired.
the prize and the "Battery rental" was from the "Old SAM".
*******************************************
The new company will bring a new model end 2008 on the European marked. They planned 500 this year and 5000 next year.
The production will be in Poland. The prize will be aprox. $20'000 including LiPo Batteries. Max Speed over 80 km/h (50 miles/h) and range will be about 100 km (60 miles)
Regardless what it costs, we here in the US wont see anything like this any time soon. It would hurt out perfect oil companies and theyd make sure to tax the hell out of it prior to landing on any coast. Easily a 6-8 thousand dollar mark-up. After that, a Chevy sounds good to the average American.

It's just a motorcycle engine with one extra wheel, a cover, and doors. Quite inconvenient, not to mention embarrassing to be seen driving in. Can you picture yourself trying to pick up chicks in that thing!? Oh yea, that's right, it only seats one person. At least with a motorcycle you can have a passenger, this thing's a piece of junk. Just my opinion.
Your opinion is wrong, it's a luvly cute little bug, chicks love that shit. I see what you mean about not being able to carry passengers though - even the Messershmitt could do that!
its electric u plap! look if you think like that what is the point of ev's they are 'avante garde' so no point in them looking like a ford fiesta really?, impracticle?...no not really most people go to work in 4 seater cars on there own, and in the UK its £1.05 per litre.
What kind of engineer are you exactly? A real engineer can see the efficiency and elegance in the design. I guess I'm just more secure about the size of my penis than you are, because I'm an engineer and I drive a small, electric car and girls seem to like me just fine. Green is "in" buddy. Get with the program.
They wont pass our saftey tests because it's expected to be safe on our freeways. It's time to think differently & introduce these on roads 50km/hr & under. In rushhour traffic these won't get squashed.
"It can't have 4 wheels like a car, since it would then only be allowed to go 25 mph." Depending on what country you're in. Legislators will need to catch up and start recognising new categories of commuter vehicles.
Apparently they will be building this car near Warsaw, Poland. We've got our own ZEV, I sure as hell hope they learn to market it. Like the SAM, but not as much as our own. ;)
I have a concept for a 3-wheel car that is powered by a detachable motorcycle, which means it can be either a car or a motorcycle. The motorcycle detaches from the enclosed cabin so that the bike can be driven alone. I doubt that anyone has ever built this type of vehicle. See information about it on ebay (#270193159208)
There must be two different versions one gas one electric, in one of your videos I spotted a Tachometer, unless thats a really large battery status gauge.
Do you take them to work with you? I think this is more a 'second car' type of purchase for people looking for alternatives to ritual murder of family members.

Should be four goals in electric car design in order this to all work and every one will buy them.
1. Cost must be fair price around $10k to $30k
2. Travel at least 200 miles on a eight hour or less charge.
3. Must have power to reach speed of 75 MPH and in ten secounds or less.
4. Battery can be repalced at a low cost.
