You really need to stop stepping on the pedal, it sounds like you are pushing the pedal on everything. It sounds horrible because it sounds messy and sorry but I think this is the worst interpretation of Ludwig Van Beethoven's song.
Ok, great start. Keep the practice up and try to set a pace throughout that you are comfortable with. Leave that pedal alone until you have the nuts and bolts of the piece together then perhaps try to use more pedal as you become more confident. It's a great effort but still not quite there. Perhaps the 1st movement might suit you better for now or something right back to basics and then go from there.
Ludwig Van (some Clockwork-stuff here)just turned in his grave...
Seriously, this gotta be the most awful version on youtube. I`ve listened to many of them. Please dont upload something that far from... dunno, there are no words to describe. Well, i gotta be fair, everyone at every age may learn the piano and everyone may get some valuable input out of the process of learning, but please, try something appropiate for your current skill level. Start learning some Yann Tiersen stuff.
@seelenwaechter Any need? I don't care if you can play it perfectly yourself, you don't say that. And if you can't play it yourself, no more needs to be said.
Wow, dramatic slow down.... dont do that. it sounded like you have no rhythm at all. set your metronome to 100 for eighth notes and practice that way until you can play it perfectly. then slowly increase the speed. you already learned the notes, you just have to be more patience with the metronome 8D keep up the good work!
don't think that the speed is the most important, really you shouldn't. And chose a speed which can be suitable for you and try to feel the music, more performance, you are not a machin, the audience needs feelings in your music
The reason she goes more slowly is that she is not as familiar with those sections. Sorry to some of you, but DUH! I play much worse than she, so I know how difficult it is to sound even that good, and it is really pretty good. Keep it up! (and with a bit less pedal... :-)
2. play at a speed ur comfortable at... dun suddently slow down. u play fast at the first page, then u slow down at the second page first 2 lines, then u spd up again.
What happened here? You seem to never pick your foot off the pedal. and the piano is not in the best tune. You seem to also use about three tempi--not correct at all.
Don't listen to the negative people of youtube. They are all sad that they are unable to play this piece.
Listen to me and listen good, you may have played a bit slow however you have years to improve! This piece is one of the toughest and fastest no doubt! You dear girl are a master at the instrument! All you need is the speed and the trills and there we have it! Another master at one of the finest instruments has been born!
like it so far you seem to be adding a little more than you need to in the run in the beginning, also slowing that part with the right hand too much but you are doing great and dont want you to give up just common mistake with young players and dont get discouraged
You're all ass holes. Maybe the "improved" means that she has improved since she began playing. Yeah, it's not perfect, probably won't be for a while. The point is, she's been practicing, and she's obviously proud of the improvements she's made. Grow up you insensitive pricks! I tried to tackle the song way before I was really "ready" to, but I practiced my ass off anyway. Don't tell her she shouldn't play because she isn't ready, encourage her for trying something difficult and sticking to it!
hahahaha...WTF....well...what can I say...she plays it better than me!! I give her credit for posting this vid online knowing what's gonna happen to it..

i don't think u are ready at all for the 3rd movement and u should stick with the 1st movement because what u have just posted was the worst video on Moonlight Sontana ever
yeah, dude, you're really not ready for Moonlight Sonata's 3rd movement yet...seriously...just stop it. This isn't any improvement. There IS such a thing as NOT BEING READY FOR A PIECE! you're not ready for this, you just don't have the technicality and the maturity for the feeling and all the technical stuff in the 3rd movement, you just can't do it yet. When learning piano, you have to be patient, and this is the time to REALLY be patient and put this on hold until you're ready.
Oh, and also, you're playing this at like...Allegro speed, it's Presto Agitado, it's quite fast! and yeah, pinkablbion's right, don't just call a video "improved", because it's still shit!
You're not ready yet. As my band director once said when you were a baby you didn't hop out of the crib and start running around. First you hve to learn to crawl, than you have to learn to walk, then you have to learn to run. Use google to find sheet music, I printed it out and use it, and there is a free one somewhere. I'm guessing you played it by ear cause a lot of spots are pretty messed up. Don't listen to the people below, you're not horrible.
Hit the keys less hard, use less pedal and slow down the piece(You can't cover mistakes with sostenuto pedal, you get headache from listening that). Use the same time for all the playing, the first arpeggios are a little faster. Practice your left hand, i can't really hear the staccato. At least you know how to play it now. Keep practicing and you can play it really well.
very pleasing! excellent beginner... no offense mahal! haha... i think this is practice mode and you should post all your practice videos that are improving and improving
if i'm your teacher i will hit your hand with a ruler why you playing it so hard like the piano killed your mom... your whole body is pushing the keys... wtf?
NayPi... You can't learn Rachmaninoffs 3rd in a year... you need to pace yourself... and that means slowly working on your technique and going after repertoire that is hard, but which you can master AND perform - not play... perform.
NayPi, play something more to ur level. i hope u understand tat this is a very difficult sonata and all u would do if u try to play it is strein ur hands. These are my precautions:
Arpeggios: many wrong notes in ur left hand and some in ur right + over pedalling
The part at 23 secs-36 secs:
wrong notes, arrange then and hurry it a bit more.
Part from 1:34 to 2:20 hopeless case! dont do it skip it.
make it stop!!!! i wish beethoven could come and kill u for emberressing him like that. man u should have got lessons from wilhelm kempff wen he was alive... i think u killed him with ur playing
Practice without the pedal. That's what I do, and it helps get rid of the habit of covering up mistakes with a mess of sounds (I still have that bad habit).
Although many critics are right: Dont let yourself demotivate from that - If I could only play half of all that I would kill for it ;-) Keep on practicing and you'll become a big one!!!
Your video is unprepared! The tempo is low,MANY delays and misplays. Some transitions are absolutely incorrect.Half of the mvt.has been cut.
OK.Just wait a couple of years.Your hand will grow up.XQs me, you are not OLD enough to be capable of taking a nona-chord.Just train ur finger muscles.
And listen to a professional recording and then rate your play yourself. And learn, learn until your true mark is 85%.
Sorry for destrictivism, it's just my opinion))) If i'm wrong, delete this comm.
did you have to be so mean? she's merely a child. how did you play as a child? obviously not that good or you wouldn't be sitting here on youtube criticizing her so harshly. there's a difference between mean-spirited remarks and constructive criticism. this is youtube; not a piano competition as someone else said. duh?
OK.......Good try...but....it looks like u still need the music, The Tempo changes were off....by a lot.....u need to invest in a metronome.....and to take the brick off of the pedal.....u are a good player, props for trying but before u post .....have it finished.....look to Wilhlm Kempff's moonlight for some advice....goodluck with the song
it's a great start. you need some more direction with your dynamics, and you should play with a metronome. Listen to Wilhelm Kempff's recording and you'll understand better. A work in progress let's call it
This video is a disgrace, Beehtoven would be pissed of if he was still alive. Go with something easier, like Mozarts first Piano sonata. Listen to Wilhelm Kempffs recording and u will se u are farr off from good at this piece
The recording is quite teribble. Too much ambient sound. I wiah Naypi will resend a video with a better recording so we will have a chance to hear how she palys.
this piece has this really distinct melody tt keeps repeating, sometimes it happens for the right hand, then the other times the left hand. when it happens for the right hand, let tt melody stand out(no need to accent on it though), do the same if it happens for the left hand. lastly, after u are familiar with all the notes, keep the melodies in mind while playing because when u are enjoying it, it'll be easier to play it with emotions! hope this helps =)
good try, just keep working on it =D. u gotta watch the pedal. don't accent on notes. u can try to figure out the patterns of the different parts of this piece as in reading a few bars as a whole rather then note by note because it will speed up the learning process very effectively(well at least it did very much for me, finished learning it in a week and a half but not polished though).
That was good. I love this piece but it needs some more practice. That is a very good effort though. keep up the good work. i'm sure someday you'll play it perfectly.
ah....thats like the .....i dont know. i have played this master.....ohh its so bad,s orry, why that bloody substain...why are you putting this on youtube at all....you nead 3 more years fo this
I hate how everybody on YouTube and other video streaming sites talks down on people who put in such hard work into what they do. If she wants to upload it, let her. There're no rules stating that you have to be capable of something perfectly amazing to post a video. If she's not playing to your expectations, then give her props for trying her best and give CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. Nobody likes a person who puts people down.
But Its Just So Terrible If She Played Slower And Practiced More shed Get Better That Was Terrible she missed ALOT of notes and has way to much sustain pedal SLOW PRACTICE WILL HELP
technically, all most of the notes are there. You just need to stop using so much pedalling, and convey the music using more of your wrist, arms, fingers etc, together with feeling for the agitato of the piece. Keep the time even, it doesn't even matter if you play it at below concert speed, its the musicality that counts!
If that's the improved one, i dread to think what the original one was like. Seriously. I can't believe you actually wanted to upload it! You might be able to play it right eventually (though probably never at the speed you start it at), but you need to take things slowly.
i say awsome!!! perfection takes time, so those people tht complain about it not being perfect, well dont you remember when you suck'd. yeah if everyone told you you suck would you keep playing? awsome girl awsome, come play in me band.
I know this is a difficult pieace to learn. You seem to have the apregios down, but their not clear. Like so many others said... lay off the pedal A LOT. Your tempo is constantly going from fast to too slow. Keep it one tempo, all throughout, unless the pieace tells you to do otherwise. Make sure EVERY note can be heard. Practice it slower as well. You're missing tons of notes and trills in there.
the song is fast enough that it by nature has a thick sound, so the pedal is really unnecesary. i dont kow whoeter the playing is good or not because it is unclear. 3/5
start from the basics - dissect each phrase and practice practice practice before starting to increase the tempo. You shouldn't even be using pedals at all during rehearsal. Very messy...
There isn't enough loud-soft distinction, you missed a load of notes and you're using too much pedal. However, this is a physically destructive piece for the unprepared and you're really putting effort into this; for that you get points. If you're looking for a recording upon which to base your playing, search for Jeno Jando.
You should try and play the piece at a comfortable, constant speed in which you play all of the correct notes. Don't try and rush certain parts of this peice and slow down on others. Try and play it evenly, smoothly, and correctly. Speed will come with time.
slow down!...too loud and ur pedalling is not good...dont bang the piano!...are you angry at someone while playing this?!..play softly, smoothly and slow down a little bit!..2 out of 5...sorry...i play better...
as already said you have too much pedalling. Or maybe it's just the camera, but either way it sounds kinda like someone is playing pure bass in the background
Very poor. You need more practise. Unless this is a video blog of your practise sessions, I think you are NOT ready to show this piece off yet. If this is an 'Improved' attempt.. I wonder how did the original sound like..
hmmm i agree just pressing the pedal for a long time does NOT cover mistakes....lots of minor mistakes and it is better to play at a slower constant rate then try to rush at certain parts but kepp on practicisng!
beautiful piece, and your doing great for the most part. i believe that with a little practice and a lot of dedication you could pull this off. great job!
You really need to stop stepping on the pedal, it sounds like you are pushing the pedal on everything. It sounds horrible because it sounds messy and sorry but I think this is the worst interpretation of Ludwig Van Beethoven's song.

OMG this was awful...why do you even post if the piece is not ready? ABSOLUTLEY murdered it! and lay of the pedals.... F-
franci1982 4 years ago
it's a great start. you need some more direction with your dynamics, and you should play with a metronome. Listen to Wilhelm Kempff's recording and you'll understand better. A work in progress let's call it
pandafreak87 4 years ago
lets face it, could you do any better people that post this is bad? its more peaceful this way (even though it is a rothful piece)

This video is a disgrace, Beehtoven would be pissed of if he was still alive. Go with something easier, like Mozarts first Piano sonata. Listen to Wilhelm Kempffs recording and u will se u are farr off from good at this piece

LOL 100 'poor' raitings xD. If I were you I would delete this video...

This is a young girl. Why would you even say the "F" word??? Because your mastery of the English language is poor.

Good work. Even though this piece owns you, it should be the other way around.

The recording is quite teribble. Too much ambient sound. I wiah Naypi will resend a video with a better recording so we will have a chance to hear how she palys.

this piece has this really distinct melody tt keeps repeating, sometimes it happens for the right hand, then the other times the left hand. when it happens for the right hand, let tt melody stand out(no need to accent on it though), do the same if it happens for the left hand. lastly, after u are familiar with all the notes, keep the melodies in mind while playing because when u are enjoying it, it'll be easier to play it with emotions! hope this helps =)
ilovecheesefondue 4 years ago
good try, just keep working on it =D. u gotta watch the pedal. don't accent on notes. u can try to figure out the patterns of the different parts of this piece as in reading a few bars as a whole rather then note by note because it will speed up the learning process very effectively(well at least it did very much for me, finished learning it in a week and a half but not polished though).
ilovecheesefondue 4 years ago
Do you realized she posted this nearly a year ago? I'm sure if she's been working hard on it, she can play the entire piece by now.
Mariogirl16 4 years ago
it definately can be improved... but i've seen worse.:]

I hear improvements from the last time you played. Just keep practicing, and you'll get it! Your arpeggios are awesome! Keep up the good work!

BankFace 4 years ago
That was good. I love this piece but it needs some more practice. That is a very good effort though. keep up the good work. i'm sure someday you'll play it perfectly.

Maybe she deaf and can't hear what we hear.
It takes a year+ to learn this piece, little one. Come back when you're at least 20. ;)

O_O? It only took me two months to learn it. But if you mean master this peice, then I agree.

But Its Just So Terrible If She Played Slower And Practiced More shed Get Better That Was Terrible she missed ALOT of notes and has way to much sustain pedal SLOW PRACTICE WILL HELP

pianostudent72 5 years ago
technically, all most of the notes are there. You just need to stop using so much pedalling, and convey the music using more of your wrist, arms, fingers etc, together with feeling for the agitato of the piece. Keep the time even, it doesn't even matter if you play it at below concert speed, its the musicality that counts!
pianist478 5 years ago
Don't try to improve upon the works of the great master.
gordonf238 5 years ago
I can play better =P
Practise trills.
Fix tempo
and in my opinion you use too much pedal
ManWithManyShurikens 5 years ago
If that's the improved one, i dread to think what the original one was like. Seriously. I can't believe you actually wanted to upload it! You might be able to play it right eventually (though probably never at the speed you start it at), but you need to take things slowly.

omg how can you even film yourself. if i played the song like that i would sit home and practise until it got better
Tompelicious 5 years ago
too slow.. uses this Sustain PEDAL!
horuscurcino 5 years ago
I know this is a difficult pieace to learn. You seem to have the apregios down, but their not clear. Like so many others said... lay off the pedal A LOT. Your tempo is constantly going from fast to too slow. Keep it one tempo, all throughout, unless the pieace tells you to do otherwise. Make sure EVERY note can be heard. Practice it slower as well. You're missing tons of notes and trills in there.
Beethoven1111 5 years ago
extremely gross, blah, i can't even listen to the rest of it....
ytfarmer90 5 years ago
awful
angelitoheleno 5 years ago
Why on earth does she play the EASY parts super slow, and the hard parts so fast and with so much PEDAL??
LovelyBeanz 5 years ago
the song is fast enough that it by nature has a thick sound, so the pedal is really unnecesary. i dont kow whoeter the playing is good or not because it is unclear. 3/5
hotcajunfood 5 years ago
Terrible.
michel6 5 years ago
start from the basics - dissect each phrase and practice practice practice before starting to increase the tempo. You shouldn't even be using pedals at all during rehearsal. Very messy...
pwanda 5 years ago
There isn't enough loud-soft distinction, you missed a load of notes and you're using too much pedal. However, this is a physically destructive piece for the unprepared and you're really putting effort into this; for that you get points. If you're looking for a recording upon which to base your playing, search for Jeno Jando.
DaXue 5 years ago
you play the first octaves much faster than the rest...
i would recommend that you play with no pedal as it makes the notes come out clearer
codeexiled 5 years ago
read the score. don't stand on the pedal.
mkiozipangbuu 5 years ago
pedal just excegerate the mistake you got...
try to do some basic practice may be good for you
duopoon 5 years ago
Well....hard work.
Yet, there are so many skills you need to work on. You played it extremely out of beat, that is, not is a steady speed at all!
Yup, and unaware of pedalling.
laiandylai 5 years ago
i thought it was exellent improve for the most part but yes way too much pedaling and you went too far into the lower octaves a few times.
thejiggsaw 5 years ago
You should try and play the piece at a comfortable, constant speed in which you play all of the correct notes. Don't try and rush certain parts of this peice and slow down on others. Try and play it evenly, smoothly, and correctly. Speed will come with time.
vbartoletti 5 years ago
slow down!...too loud and ur pedalling is not good...dont bang the piano!...are you angry at someone while playing this?!..play softly, smoothly and slow down a little bit!..2 out of 5...sorry...i play better...
zinampan123 5 years ago
as already said you have too much pedalling. Or maybe it's just the camera, but either way it sounds kinda like someone is playing pure bass in the background
codeexiled 5 years ago
Very poor. You need more practise. Unless this is a video blog of your practise sessions, I think you are NOT ready to show this piece off yet. If this is an 'Improved' attempt.. I wonder how did the original sound like..
PhatPhunk 5 years ago
wow.. better than what i can do.
adobogirl 5 years ago
go play something easier
atsaka 5 years ago
too much pedal-ing.. tune messed up due to that..
its better to play the 1st part slower to keep up with the 2nd part.. if u get wad i mean ^^
however, keep working hard!
eDoeN 5 years ago
hmmm i agree just pressing the pedal for a long time does NOT cover mistakes....lots of minor mistakes and it is better to play at a slower constant rate then try to rush at certain parts but kepp on practicisng!
ioriterry 5 years ago
beautiful piece, and your doing great for the most part. i believe that with a little practice and a lot of dedication you could pull this off. great job!
