@tanorjoy78 I don't think youve ever read the Psalms. Because there are tons of them that aren't praise, but lament. The vast majority deal with the relationship of God AND man. And numerous of them deal with man asking God's presence and glory to be among His people. Just saying
@tanorjoy78 We are rising up a generation that does not seek the things of this world, looking to eternity and to God to give us strength. That is the continued cry of this generation. A lot of songs these days are about God renewing us, making a radical lifestyle normal. The reason why there is a lot of reflective worship is because we need to make disciples of all nations. We need to have that desperate attitude, and guess what attitude Christians don't have, hiding and waiting for revival.
@tanorjoy78 God IS the same yesterday today and forever, and it's talking about His Spirit and the foundations of His thrown and the character of who He is, not about the plans and desires He has for every single promise. In this song, they are calling on God to come a touch us in a way that we can see more of who He is, more of who He has always been! The song is having faith in the fact that God can send His glory and open our eyes because of what He did on the Cross : )

what i basically meant was that We give God praise, in many ways. one HUGE way, is relying on him, and praying to God and telling him how we love him. (I'm a worship leader as well) Its further stimulated because we put our hearts into the songs, but never enough in prayer. That's when he hears us the most.
@tanorjoy78 I believe that's what worship was originally intended to be. The songs only stimulate the presence of God. But what you do while you're IN His presence, all depends on you. That's basically everything worship is. Its prayer with musical expression. and I'm glad I could help you. :)

But there nothing wrong with inviting god and the holy spirit into our hearts. alot of times we need god to awaken us for us to see him and get to know him. After all, how can you worship someone you don't know?
