  • His singing is kinda bad here, but the guitar playing great (as always):)

  • favorite!!!

  • man i love the way this man plays guitar...

  • acdc elvis and jimi hendrix covered this song. chuck berry is awesome.

  • Terryble it´s your mama.

  • Bad singer, berry?shut up ,you don`t know nothing about music.

  • berry is a terrible singer aswell heard him live?

  • Can't sing the song for shit, but rips on the guitar so good that it doesn't really matter what he's saying, even though this is one of the greatest songs ever written

  • мастер Хендрикс.. молчать всем и слушать внимательно..как играет Бог

  • Its like his guitar is a supercharged legendary wild stallion full of lightening and it refuses to stop running...Hendrix is the only man alive who could ever cling onto it for dear life.

  • @ThinkingBearArt You mean he is the only dead man that come back to life with that power, right?

  • Someone told me that Hendrix can't play the blues, that's completely absurd.

  • @judezoso311 LOl he has a Blues album.

  • @judezoso311 da fuck? dude... It's totaly clear that much of his playing is influenced by blues lol xD

  • @judezoso3c11 check his acoustic version of I hear my train acommin,,whomever told you he couldn't play the blues was bullshittin ya, a bunch

  • This is probably my favourite version of the song. :3

  • Is this from Hendrix In The West?

I need to listen to that record.

  • @SMariaL1 yes it is..my favorite album !

  • Hendrix is like... i may not sing this song as well as berry but let me show you how i play a guitar...

  • Jimi is a god whit guitar

  • 2:03-2.52 :) :) :) :) :)

  • Can Jimi move like Chuck while playing?

  • @isukaman Hendrix could move like nobody-s business, but Chuck Berry was unbelievable. So, no. Heh.

  • this version is best anyway

  • Impressive, but not as good as Chuck himself!

  • my god his tune + elvis presley voce =over 9000 lv epicness

  • Heaven!! pass the stash dude.

  • What does he say at the beginning ? I dont understand it.

  • @Motorkopf1975 he had to tune his guitar

  • im 15 and i love jimi and all legends of all rock sorts

  • @stoomthoom im glad you remembered your age! nobody else would have!!

  • Even Hendrix covered "God" (Chuck Berry) ! RIP JIMMI ..LONG LIVE CHUCK BERRY!

  • MIND FUCK!

  • "Johnny B Goode what the hell" hahaha

  • First heard this recording from my college roommate's collection in September 1974.

  • @powergirl901 man wish i've listen this magoo before !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Jimi B Good? Jimi is ALWAYS Good :D.

  • @samusic160 Jimi is not good... he is god

  • Fuck!!! This cover just BLOW MY MIND!!! Jimmy is truly THE ONE!!

  • mind=blown

  • no its johnny b bad

  • mitico Jimy Hendrix resterà sempre con noi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • That bass is sooo powerful!

  • There is guitarist better than Hendrix.

  • @OfAaron3 Yea, but most of them wouldn't be that good if it wasn't for Jimi. He was a revolutionary in the guitar world. Not only due to his unique and new guitar playing style but also because he created some of the guitar effects (in cooperation with Roger Mayer) that great guitarists use today. These are the reasons for his awesomeness.

  • FUCK!! Jimi Hendrix's guitar playing is so fucking unique!

  • Good, but not as good as chuck...

  • @monz125 Goode, but not as goode as chuck ; )

  • I swear Chuck Berry had a glimpse into the future and wrote this song about Jimi Hendrix. This song was made for Jimi

  • @Angelmind4 lol so true, the original lyrics were meant to go "colored boy" instead of "country boy" too :D.

  • better than chuck.

  • The King !!!!!!!!

  • First punk song ever by a Blackman makes me smile

  • @Greencard51 clearly is not mate as this is rock and roll not punk

  • @Greencard51 In fact dude punk music was officially brought by the sex pistols but it is true to say that in some rock n roll bands there was a little touch that we can found in the punk music. Johnny Rotten once said that Keith from the rolling stones was his punk rocker idol.

  • @ChrissRoss1 Actually broseph and the technicolor dreamcoat, Iggy Pop and/ or The Velvet Underground have been credited with starting punk a decade earlier. The Ramones, MC5, and the New York Dolls were releasing albums before The Sex Pistols.

  • @ChrissRoss1 MC5 and the Stooges were the original punk bands, not those guys.

  • @SanduskysDaycare So, The Sex Pistols & The Ramones etc. are the bands that brought Punk Rock to the mainstream.

  • @xEdddie If he said to the mainstream then yes, I'd agree with him.

  • @SanduskysDaycare So The Sex Pistols are the most influential Punk Rock band ever.

  • This is a good example why this song should only be sang by Chuck Berry.

  • @dragonbreathstinks Hey dick bag, this is all about the guitar work. you have no taste, even chuck probably enjoys this.

  • @blackstrat6897 Oh. If you're just talking about the guitar work, then it's good. He's just a bad singer at this song.

  • @dragonbreathstinks

i give this to you.....re listen to this and think about all the drugs he is on. His voice is in his guitar not his throat.

plus as his singing this and straining/ growling think of the trips hes going through haha it would be crazzzzzy

  • Now I am imagining myself on stage playing a Stratocaster with my teeth and jumping around like Marty McFly. Fuck yeah.

  • he sounds like he sang too much that day and lost his voice

  • God

    Damn

  • I can play air guitar like that

  • to the dude whosaid this is horrible ...go suck a toros shit of its but hole

  • I'm sorry, but this is just horrible.

  • @dragonbreathstinks FUCK YOU

  • @Blackdog270 It's not my fault he butchered the song.

  • @dragonbreathstinks Nah honestly fuck up

  • this B. Goode shit!

  • best cover of JBG ever-first heard it on Hendrix in the West album

  • anybody notice theres a Hendrix song here too?

  • Jimi: Is it to loud???

    Crowd: NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

  • Hehe.. Hendrix is having trouble singing the song as fast as he plays.. awesome though.

  • rock & blues isnt about competition........ its about soul

  • Chuck Berry mustve gotten schooled on how to play his won song.

  • @CarpeDiemAllTheTime his won song?

  • Goddamn!

  • MASTER!!!!!!!!

    KING OF GUITAR!!!!

  • go jimmy go

  • awesomeness all around

  • owa sowas von geil

  • Tremendo!!!!

  • is it to loud ? NOOOOOOO

  • @atacamamaster NEVEERRRR!!!!

  • AWESOME

  • The first thing I said when Jimi started to play this song was: F***. And english is not even my first language...

  • Better than Elvis cover

As good as Marty McFly cover

Almost as good as Chuck Berry original.

  • i like chuck berry playing it better but this is pretty good

  • hold up yall im mad stoned and i got to get this gutar tuned.... my mans

  • oooooooooooooooooh!!! yeah!

  • Love the original F**KING LOVE THIS ONE :)

  • @peachyyhcaep me too.

  • Bring on the hate....... but he sounds terrible.....

  • @WhiteMagic97 It just because you've been poisoned by todays....."music"

  • @WhiteMagic97 Lol, could expect that from someone who is called Whitemagic97

  • @lilgreenman185 Im from Scotland mate and here shit and shite mean the same thing, that runny brown stuff that comes out your arse

  • jimi is god

  • At Winterland in '68,he said the same thing......." we're not too loud, are we?? " Response was the same,too....." noooo! fuckin turn it up !! "

  • jimi be gone

  • @gavman21734 rip :(

  • @gavman21734

i lol'd. jimi is god though. i recon got a whole new heaven for himself.

  • 11 dislikes? Really?!

  • @FredTheKat How is it possible to dislike the quintessential American rock and roll anthem? What, are you a fucking communist or terrorist or child molester or satan worshiper or just general evil mother fu*ker?

  • @VincentvanNoEars go to that original video again and look for the comment posted by me (lilgreenman185) as a reply to some other guy ,right?,well the same applys to you

  • @VincentvanNoEars Please, people. im not going to say this again. If you are going to insult me,use correct grammar. I also highly doubt you even have a 1st grade reading level.

  • Jimi's real name was Johnny Allen Hendrix but when women cheet on his father and the man name was johnny his father gave him the name James Marshall Hendrix

  • Looks like Jimi knows his blues scales better than Marty.

  • Hendrix made all that space sounds fit perfect with the greatest R&B song, remember what Mcfly did? he destroyed it, once again, a giant demonstrate why he was it

  • Jimi busts it out from the fab Chuck to his own frenetic level. Go.

  • The story goes Jimi gave the song away as a gift because he looked up chuck and want chuck was doing with music. Only a rock god could make a master piece and would rather give it to someone he looked up too then make profit.

  • @CouryMcGinnis

Nice story but the song was written in1958 and Jimi had just got his first guitar and was 16...

  • Great guitar riffs...but the voice...just wasn't right...needs a bit of that country/southern swag.

  • Superb!

  • I have only two words in response to this:

    Holy shit.

  • @sparkleshyguy85 And I mean that in a GOOD way.

  • @sparkleshyguy85

And I have only three words for you:

    that fuck you

  • @sparkleshyguy85 yes Hendrix' shit was holy

  • jimi hendrix revolutionized Rock

  • i've died and gone to heavan!

  • 8 people are Def~

  • The nearest opening riff to Chuck, go Jimi Go Jimi Go.

  • juste super

  • if hendrix made a cover a song, it became his

  • @Hermes669x chuck berry kills it so much harder......... for his time.

  • Comment removed

  • its true is the best version!!! this cover! but i still prefer the original!! but all the rest covers need more power!! black muzik the best n powerfull musik!! respect!!

  • Smokin'!

  • Can't sing it like Chuck, but can play the actually play the guitar better then Chuck, and only a select few can claim that.

  • :awwyeah:

  • never heard Jimi play something this fast lol :P

  • Messy...

  • @Bigbluesboy

Someone said my playing was messy, what on earth does it mean?

  • @royrichardsify ru stupid then :D?

  • @royrichardsify It means your playing is sloppy and all over the place.

  • @Bigbluesboy Yeah, but when something is played with heart those messy parts sound so good.

  • Great

  • @ nabo97: If it's too loud, you're too old! Lol....

  • JIMI BE GOD!

  • @peloduroo JIMI IS GOD! ;)

  • Jimi be goode

  • this guitar and the singing of chuck berry would be the best combination

  • Comment removed

  • AWSOME YES

  • So what he can play fast sounds like a bunch of noise. He ruined Berry's song

  • @Wheelie9341 I'm with you on this. He is an innovator but (whisper it) not brilliant

  • @DaveDawsonMusic @Wheelie9341

I agree. I love all of Jimi's songs. And he was a brilliant guitarist. But some songs aren't meant to have a cover. And I believe Johnny be Goode is one of those songs. Nothing does better than the original.

  • @demonx112 Are you kidding me? IS HENDRIX! Jajaj. Peace

  • @DaveDawsonMusic

You're out of your mind. Maybe you aren't capable of recognizng musical genius. Chuck Berry wrote a great rock and roll song. Jimi rolls it over Beethoven.

  • That was meant for Wheelie. Maybe he thinks Clapton is god. Here's some news: Clapton says Hendrix is god.

  • @opensourcecurrency Nah he misses all the slides it's lazy but admittedly emotional playing

  • @DaveDawsonMusic

Yeah OK sorry he didn't play the "slides" or whatever you imagine has to be in the song. I guess you could do the guitar part with more imagination and less "laziness". You guys are nuts.

  • @Wheelie9341

It's noise to a moron. Genius to anyone who appreciates music. I suppose you think Jackson Pollock made scribbles.

  • @opensourcecurrency I appreciate music and thats the point Hendrix was technical

great but musically poor. So what he could play fast his best songs were other creative

songwriters All Along the Watchtower was Dylans song. These guys get into playing fast and technical profientcy and forget its is about music.

  • @Wheelie9341 Guess you haven't heard Jimi's slow jams. Jimi loved Bob's lyrics and song writing style, so naturally he'd cover them, and make them better than the original. It's just all part of his charm. He left on the spaceship he landed on as soon as he blew our minds away, and now he's up there with Jesus and all of the other greats just rocking the fuck out.

  • @Wheelie9341

You have it backwards. Hendrix had no formal training and never learned to read music. He played upside down. He invented his own style and technique. He was also a brilliant composer and did only a few covers, re-inventing them on his own fashion. Yeah it's sad that he practiced so much that he could play fast. I guess you're a better ballet dancer if you can't jump as high.

  • @opensourcecurrency he didnt play upside down his guitar was but the string were normal

  • @opensourcecurrency Technically, he was one of the first people to play lefty guitar, right? I thought he tuned his guitar so that the strings were tuned normally, but the guitar was upside-down (eg "lefty").

  • @007guy19 are you for real?

  • @moroney07 No, I'm obviously an imaginary creature that only exists in your head. In fact, nobody else can see my comments, because they are just a figment of your imagination.

  • @007guy19 oh good, because i really hope no one has to read that absolute bullshit you wrote. thanks imaginary guy!

  • @moroney07 Of course!

Haha in retrospect, it probably was bullcrap. I actually don't listen to much Hendrix, and therefore know little to nothing about him. You win this round, my powerful trolling friend.
