Why do people have to keep putting their mare's in foal? you think their cute and then you say "we'll get him a forever home" wake up to reality. Please -- we can't solve the problem by only banning slaughter in the US - then they ship the horses to Canada and Mexico for slaughter. So there needs to be a comprehensive approach to protect the horses. The root of the problem is that human beings don't have compassion for animals, even the ones that serve us loyally, as horses do. Human beings look at animals as things to be used or eaten. Human beings are not very "evolved."

While I applaud your rescue efforts, I do not understand why you bred the mare. Would it not have been better to save another horse from a brutal death at the abattoire?

this remines me of my horse Smiley we were at a gas stashon after we soled some pigs and i say somthing in the boches i walk over there and to my disblefe there was a very thin mud caked horse he had a halter on and it said Smiley on the plate i took aholed of the halter and took him in the trailer then when i shut the dore he screemed and swong around i quickley took him out and shoed him the trailer then he went in fine with out a word and now he is a very Fat and happy horse!!

My friend went to an auction. She tried to out-bid a guy for a horse named Lucey Lou. Unfortunately, he got her. Later, she found out Lucy was slaughtered to death and fed to her owner. My friend mourns her till this day. she found a lost foal, she soom was told its mother was killed too. She has it, safe and sound. You see what people do? NO I DIDNT COPY/PASTE THIS IT HAPPENED
Trouble is they then send the horses to mexico where there are absolutely no controls and believe me those horses really suffer. I rescue thoroughbreds and believe me a quick death done humanely is better than a slow and lingering one on a trailer to Mexico without food and water...then to be sent to their disgusting death houses...Texas has a terrible place! So does Alberta! I wish I could save them all!

I believe anyone who rescues a horse is a hero...They deserve to be called that. They put love, effort and money into saving horses. Thats what anyone who can do...should do.
1. They slaughter them for meat, for humans or animal food. They do it for the money.
2. Its not about being a hero its about loving the horse. Often they need alot of care and sometimes no matter how hard you try they still don't make it but if they do the rewards out way the expenses.You can rescue them from feed lots or auctions.

Most are retired show horses, racehorses, work horses, or just horses that couldn't satisfy their owner's need for more money vs. a good home. I don't think any animal deserves this fate! I'm trying my best to become a vegan. I mean we already know what potential horses can have and we can even find out what kind of potential cows and chickens and other farm animals have in them if we decided to think more of them instead of just food. One thing that atill remains unanswered is why people do this! Every horse rescued from slaughter has a story to tell. We rescued a yearling filly in 2004, so spirited she was. Her eyes full of life and fire! she turned out to be a great Dressage horse. There was nothing wrong. she was just young and needed training. PPL dont understand that and its ridiculous!
Such s sad video. I rescue as many as possible every year. and the most recent just had a foal 3 days ago. A beautiful Palomino Colt. Unfortunstely the mother didnt make it, she was so skinny and so messed up it wasnt a surprise. Her name was Lillypads. And It was so sad to see her go, but she is out of pain now, and we have her colt to live on for her. He's so strong and we hope the best. Knowing we rescued 2 horses that day was so heart warming. Fortunately Lilly died without being slaughtered

My Arab, Jessie. Was raised at a feedlot/salughter house. She excaped and a friend of mine found her and gave her to a girl who trained her for jumping. She was an amazing little mare (R.I.P) I miss her everyday!

when i got him he was beaten neglected 90% of horses on my yard are rescued it took a hour to get his head collar off because he was so scared so if he was yours i hope you die for hurting my little boy

Shooter sure is handsome, and so is Baron. All of them are. I cant beleive some one would send them to slaughter. Im glad that theres people out there like you that are saving these beautiful creatures that other wise would be killed. Most of them for no apparent reason. Thanks. When i get my own horse farm im going to rescue horses that would go to slaughter too.

this remines me of my horse Smiley we were at a gas stashon after we soled some pigs and i say somthing in the boches i walk over there and to my disblefe there was a very thin mud caked horse he had a halter on and it said Smiley on the plate i took aholed of the halter and took him in the trailer then when i shut the dore he screemed and swong around i quickley took him out and shoed him the trailer then he went in fine with out a word and now he is a very Fat and happy horse!!

My friend went to an auction. She tried to out-bid a guy for a horse named Lucey Lou. Unfortunately, he got her. Later, she found out Lucy was slaughtered to death and fed to her owner. My friend mourns her till this day. she found a lost foal, she soom was told its mother was killed too. She has it, safe and sound. You see what people do? NO I DIDNT COPY/PASTE THIS IT HAPPENED

Trouble is they then send the horses to mexico where there are absolutely no controls and believe me those horses really suffer. I rescue thoroughbreds and believe me a quick death done humanely is better than a slow and lingering one on a trailer to Mexico without food and water...then to be sent to their disgusting death houses...Texas has a terrible place! So does Alberta! I wish I could save them all!

this song makes me cry already. its just after lane frost was burried in the movie 8 seconds. lol i think it is sounds very similar. this is very sad my mum was goin to send my qh to the slaughter only because everyone had said he was un breakable but i gained my horses trust and i broke him in myself. alot of sweat and tears went into it but the end result was just as sad. the very day i actually rode him my mum sold him that day my heart was shattered i just hope he is well now. i miss him xox

i thank u all so much for puting this video up. i saved my horse from a slaughter house. he is a 3yr old bar stud only thing wrong with him is he is 1/2 blind in one eye and was abused so he is scared of most people. but he has a good life now and produces some of the prettiest pain babies i have ever seen. i love him to death!

that was so nice. im sorry that those horses have had that happen. my horses were taken we sold three and when we found out were the man took them i could not stand it they were thaken to the slaughter house in texas and new mexico. they were sold 63 cents a pound.

1. They slaughter them for meat, for humans or animal food. They do it for the money.
2. Its not about being a hero its about loving the horse. Often they need alot of care and sometimes no matter how hard you try they still don't make it but if they do the rewards out way the expenses.You can rescue them from feed lots or auctions.
3. I totally agree, thank you eveyone who puts time,effort and money into saving these beautiful creatures who might other wise not live to learn and see kindness.

Thank you for showing a side that not many realize. Many of these animals are not sick, dying, lame, or unproductive. Most are retired show horses, racehorses, work horses, or just horses that couldn't satisfy their owner's need for more money vs. a good home. I mean we already know what potential horses can have and we can even find out what kind of potential cows and chickens and other farm animals have in them if we decided to think more of them instead of just food. King5 news out of Seattle did a report not long ago, that showed videos of horses being slaughtered in the states, in Canada, and in Mexico. To those of you who do not believe it happens, I urge you to do a search for those videos, they are all over youtube. You will see that it is VERY real.

Its people like you who need to WAKE UP and pay attention to whats going on outside your own little world. Horses ARE being slaughtered daily, only now they are being shipped to Canada or Mexico depending on where they are located and who is doing the sending. Do a search on horse slaughter (here and on google), you will find more than enough proof that they ARE being killed. Pay attention to the news, as the horses are finally starting to draw attention.

One thing that atill remains unanswered is why people do this! Every horse rescued from slaughter has a story to tell. We rescued a yearling filly in 2004, so spirited she was. Her eyes full of life and fire! she turned out to be a great Dressage horse. There was nothing wrong. she was just young and needed training. PPL dont understand that and its ridiculous!

Such s sad video. I rescue as many as possible every year. and the most recent just had a foal 3 days ago. A beautiful Palomino Colt. Unfortunstely the mother didnt make it, she was so skinny and so messed up it wasnt a surprise. Her name was Lillypads. And It was so sad to see her go, but she is out of pain now, and we have her colt to live on for her. He's so strong and we hope the best. Knowing we rescued 2 horses that day was so heart warming. Fortunately Lilly died without being slaughtered

If only slaughter would just stop. But, now it has gone in the US, but more horses are being neglected and shipped up to Canada, and worse, down to Mexico where there are no regulations....

My Arab, Jessie. Was raised at a feedlot/salughter house. She excaped and a friend of mine found her and gave her to a girl who trained her for jumping. She was an amazing little mare (R.I.P) I miss her everyday!

i have a new forest pony who is almost 3. my mum and i got him for free because if we hadn taken him he would'v gone to slaughter because he was a colt. hes a little star n i cant believe that his old owners would'v given up on him so easily, we have started 2 train him now n he is flauless n i love him wiv all my heart. This video has really got 2 me n i wish there was more i cud do but sadly i dont have enough money or room to resue a horse.

Work on closing the sale barns/horse auctions.The kill buyers wont go farm to farm.Would also make the horses not a easy disposable pet!

when i got him he was beaten neglected 90% of horses on my yard are rescued it took a hour to get his head collar off because he was so scared so if he was yours i hope you die for hurting my little boy
