  • THANKS SO MUCH!!!! YOU ARE MY HERO :) LOL

  • Thanks, for some reason my laptop doesn't allow certain features in autodesk to work, mainly my function keys. But this does help cut time down.

  • @youngday713 while in the sketch, you can right click and select "Slice Graphics" to accomplish the same thing. That will prevent the need for Function keys.

  • Thank you very much. Its very helpful and I wish you a long and happy life

  • @tetoiu Thanks, glad you liked it. I wish you a long and happy life as well.

  • I tried using f7 but it wouldn't work, I'm using Inventer 2012

  • @youngday713 I assure you it does work, I have tried it in 2012. Make sure that you are in sketch mode (meaning a sketch is active and the sketch tools are showing) AND on a sketch that cuts through the part. Hope that helps.

  • thanks john this is a true tutorial. I'll be watching for more!

  • waw your a very good instructor... regardless of how fast you made this part...hmm I plan on going through this exercise a few more times just to master it.... are all your tutorials as good as this one?

  • @SuperRobertmatrix Thanks, of course they are all as good ;) at least I think they are.

  • This is sooo cool.... thank for sharing your knowhow with us!!!

  • @Banchuba anytime, hope it helps.

  • Great tutorial, im looking forward to more tuts ;)

  • Hi John, thanks for the uploads. I'm still finding my way around Inventor and I have a questions. When I sketch it looks like Inventor does not use the snap function as much as it can. For example when moving a object and right click I have the option of mid point etc yet when I come to place the object and right click I don't have the option. I am missing something?

  • @busabuoy Honestly, I never use that option, because it's just extra clicks. When sketching the system will automatically find the mid point when you hover over the line near the mid point. If for some reason you want the system to not use the auto snaps (say if you wanted to draw a line that terminated very close to, but not on the mid point) you can hold the Ctrl key down on the keyboard. Keep in mind the menus are context sensitive, snaps will only be available when the can be used.

  • Extremely useful tutorials you have there.

Many thanks from a university student :)

  • @JohnsonGetDown Glad they helped. Thanks for watching.

  • Really great tutorial :) Thank you!

  • Great tutorials, John. Thanks for the effort! I enjoy learning now :-)

  • HI!

Are you using one of those space pilot control units by 3dconnexion. Would you recommend it? Thank you! Awesome tutorials!

  • @georgedsuarez Im using a 3dconnexion spacepilot and I highly recomend everyone that uses Autodesk to get it. Without it I feel incomplete while using Autodesk.
