  • dildar isnt playing the traditional tabla, this adaptation is called a 'jorri"

  • Hi,

Both are Good I like the Video. But ustad Bhurekhan (Mumbai) is really great varsetile harmonium player.

  • dildaar hussain plays kool tabla because he is playing a dholak as the bhyan haath...

  • @KillinDaWelfareMCs He is playing Dhamma, not Dholak

  • wah kya baat hay very nice these 10min realy awesome!!!!!!!!!! Dildar hussain is the best tabla player ever.......

    Bravo!!!

  • The tabla is awesome but the harmonium playing by the late great Farrukh Fateh Ali Khan is simply mindblowing. The guy was one of a kind!!!

  • good

  • Wah Ji Wah super job, thanks for this great upload.

  • Farrukh is the bestest harmo player BUT Dildar hussain ROX too.

  • kya desi theka hai la jawaab.

  • MASTERPIECE.

  • Very beautifully Tablas and Harmonium are played. Very soothing sound. Thanks ikhan24 ji.Thanks tomandjerry2007 ji for sharing. W.R. Sarla.

  • DESTRUCTIVE!!!!

  • LEGENDS!!!

  • Farrukh sahab ki kia baat hai

    waah aala

  • Mashalllah... Another Great piece by Khan Sahib & Party. I recently came into contact with DIldar Hussain who plays the tabla and he told me he came fom a very poor family and that Nusrat Sahib bought him into the Party at a very early age. He told me how Nusrat Sahib use to play the Tabla and taught him everything. They use to practice after Fajr and Dildar always made mistakes and even doubted whether he would continue with Nusrat Sahib but he said that Nusrat made him what he is today...

  • @fiaz4g1 wow, is there any more information dildar stays very quite out of the publics attention

  • rocking........super yaar

  • Great.... proude to be pakistani

  • OMFG!! I had goosebumps when Farruk sahb played that "mere naseeb main" tune.

  • thrilling & mesmerising

  • No doubt Farroukh is great BUT Dildar rox too. 10x 4upload.

  • Out of this world.

  • phoduuu.. awesome.. bahetriin.. kya hi kahne.. hilla diyan maalik.. :)

  • Awesome just awesome...

  • Farrukh was the brother of the Legend Nusrat, Father of Rahat n son of Pakistan...then there is no other reason required to justify his talent....

  • Super Talented. This is so beautiful. Thanks for sharing...

  • Such a gifted artist from Pakistan. Proud to be Pakistani. A true master like his brother. Just dont know how to express my sadness and sorrow for the loss of these two. May ALLAH bless you with jana, MASTERS.

  • Boody awesome. This kind of stuff should be heard by everyone.

  • Eastiseast, thanks for the info.

I was so impressed with your gen that I clicked your channel, and was fascinated by the brilliant green of your fields. Are those aircraft parked at the back, are they F-16s?(I am a fighter-pilots wife).

  • How did Farrukh Fateh Ali Khan die, must have been pretty young. How come he did not get more recognition. Why did he not come into his own? What amazing loyalty to Nusrat. Pls share what you know about him.

  • Farrukh fateh ali khan ,sadly passed away in 2003,because of heartattack. And the man was absolute master of harmonium. He had many students including irshid hussain, who is still seen sometimes with Rahat.Actually the main reason of Farrukh saab not getting more recognition was that he played in company of nusrat, who overshadowed him, with his mesmerising voice. But no means.a true legend and hero for pakistanis.

  • Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan was the leader of the family Qawwali party from 1971 till his untimely death in 1997. Farrukh Fateh Ali Khan was one of only two people who remained members of the party throughout this period. Farrukh played the lead harmonium, and provided accompanying vocals. His talent to play in all scales and his ability to switch a tune at a moment's notice are arguably the best in his profession.

  • While accompanying Nusrat to England, he became widely known as Harmonium Raj Sahib (King of the Harmonium). His talents and accomplishments often went unrecognized due to playing in the shadow of Nusrat.

He remained a member of the party when his son, Rahat Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan took over the leadership of the party after Nusrat's death. Farrukh Fateh Ali Khan died on September 9, 2003.

  • Cant get better than Ustad Dildar Hussain and Ustad Farrukh Fateh Ali Khan. The best pairing of the harmonium and tabla.

  • u cant touch farrukh on the harmonium he's the ustaad the master the best player ever.

  • what tune is being played at 2:35?

  • meray naseeb mein tu hai kay nahin,,i think its a bollywood song.

  • yes it s mere naseeb from the film naseeb.

  • song mere naseeb from film naseeb

  • at 6:48 is rahat fateh ali khan as a young boy :o)

  • OMG,OMG,OMG,dildar hussain ROX.

  • o man this is so beyond uber cool. Only nusrat's name usually comes out amongst the party but its the other performers too who were equally brilliant. Be it faruukh ali khan or dildar hussain or the person on the right with the harmonium

  • actually farrukh was the key composer behind nusrat's songs

  • only legends can perform like this

  • we all grew up listerning to diz drum & music.....dildar ji is one of the best players, his so lucky he played wid nusrat ji...rip...thanks 4posting

  • very sweet piece of art by great musicians

  • Wah!

  • hey guys does it matter what type of atta you use? and do you guys know how large the head is of the dhamma that the great ustad dildar hussain is using and also if there is there a very huge quality difference in various sufi dhamma's because i myself am planning on getting one. what is a dhul?

  • that guy in the crowd shouldn't be smoking indoors.

  • listen all of u....he is using a regular tabla dhamma, but its doesnt have the normal masala.. on it..it has atta, the stuff u make chipatis out of..which gives it a more deeper sound..

  • thats right... do you know what are the differences(if any) between the sikh style dhamma and the sufi style(qawwali) dhamma? I have a couple of sikh dhammas myself...

  • do u have such dhammas..?? frm where u r..??

  • what's the tabla man playing

  • I think its great Ustad Tari Khan, playing another drum sort of... for more bass.

  • The great Ustad Dildar Hussain accompanied Nusrat in qawwalis... Dildar Sahib is playing what is called a dhamma to get that great bass sound...

  • @maxcheema no its dildar hussain

  • a DHul similar to kettle drum but smaller makes the sound of a clay pot with a cylindrical shape.

  • a DHul similar to kettle drum but smaller makes the sound of a clay pot with a cylindrical shape.

  • what are you talking about?... Dildar Sahib is playing a 'dhamma', I know b/c I have studied qawwali tabla and also play dhamma. Its like a bigger wooden bayan.

  • I am studying Pakawaj for the last 10 years and at some concerts in Kolkota, the qawwali guys sometimes use a Dhul. Most of the time its a Dhamma but I have seen them use the dhul also.

  • hello there,,,do u play dhamma,frm where u r...??

  • farukh is by far THE BEST HARMONIUM player..no keyboardist can match him.....he deserves to be in the mozart or Bethovan catagory of the harmonium....

  • Allah Bichaay!

    Praise the One GOd!!

  • Wah Wah WaheGuru!!!

Ustad Farrukh ali Khan is a exellent inspiration and superb Singer and Baja player!!

  • waah..just beautiful..i love listening to this...nusrat's part's music lives on..god bless all u...

  • umm..dildar is horrible at singing. with his voice... he should sing more style of aziz mian qawwali. it would suit his voice better.

  • AlericoHaither it's certainly not very poor, if you want to be a critic then atleast be contructive and justify what you say.

  • very pooor its not a solo harmonium its an opening of qawali if you play solo harmonium then play some raag.

  • Shut your mouth AlericoHaither you piece of crap. It might be an opening piece to a Quawali but certainly not poor.

  • 32 YRS

    WAS THEIR GROUP

    TOGATHER

  • This kind of talent will *never* get out dated. Please keep these coming. Dildar and of course Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and party - you are and will always be the very best.

  • IS ther a way to dl this video?

  • The DVD is called Live at Bradford University (1985)

  • i think ustad dildar hussain learned under ustad allah rakha

  • that is not true by the way?

  • thats what ustad nusret fateh ali khan said, in an interview that you can see on youtube...he mentioned it...!!!

  • maybe he did? but there is really no classical background on dildar himself, have u seen his singing vids on youtube, dildar is actually a folk singer> not a tabla player....and his dad played tabla for noor jaaan back in the days and his father taught him...dildar is a very great singer too....write back?

  • @sherazwilliam1 not true, Alla Rakha taught him and he learnt folk singing with nusrat

  • Dildar Hussain has a unique tabla style which many have tried to copy but failed. Dildar is the BEST tabla player I know..

  • very interesting comment...his style rains in his own way - others in their own - the objective is to be creative and unique - a tabla players fame and respect comes mostly from thier own "niche", therefore I can say Zakir Hussien is the best...

  • Yes I agree he is fantastic absolutly my favorite as well, As a tabla player myself I always find myself so amazed at Dildarji's strength, stamina, tonality and he is just always so great at accompanying Nusrat... but the best way is to appreciate this is seeing all the great artists in Nusrats party, and how they come together to create this beautiful music. Farrukh is a master at the harmonium and of course there will never be anyone that can sing like Khansahib

  • @dilburjani I can copy Ustad Dildar Hussain's style of qawwali keherwa is on youtube called Keherwa: Qawwali Style.

  • @dilburjani you now him?

  • This was an bunch of amazingly talented musicians. Not unlike Beatles.Dildar Hussain's Tabla palying is always so masculine.Above all,no "nakhra".

  • Dildar Hussain, You are the best Qawwali Tabla player of the world!

  • Rhmat is not Fiaz Ali Faiz's father but he is his uncle.

Farrukh Fateh Ali Khan was the greatest harmonium-player ever. May he rest in peace... ameen.

  • thanx,is faiz ali faizi is son rehmat hussain...

  • rehmat ali

  • Ustad farrukh fateh ali khan.. He got an award from bbc the prince of harmonium.

  • what is the name of the other harmonium player? he is pretty good also.

  • Rehmat Hussain, now he Play Harmonium with Faiz ali Faizi Qawwal

  • Faiz Ali Faiz is Rehmat Ali Khan's son ... Rehmat has a great voice, Faiz Ali Faiz is not so good

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Dildar Hussain is my favorite tabla/jhori player,

I'm trying to learn from next summer, he truly is the best at what he does...
