Mashalllah... Another Great piece by Khan Sahib & Party. I recently came into contact with DIldar Hussain who plays the tabla and he told me he came fom a very poor family and that Nusrat Sahib bought him into the Party at a very early age. He told me how Nusrat Sahib use to play the Tabla and taught him everything. They use to practice after Fajr and Dildar always made mistakes and even doubted whether he would continue with Nusrat Sahib but he said that Nusrat made him what he is today...
Such a gifted artist from Pakistan. Proud to be Pakistani. A true master like his brother. Just dont know how to express my sadness and sorrow for the loss of these two. May ALLAH bless you with jana, MASTERS.
I was so impressed with your gen that I clicked your channel, and was fascinated by the brilliant green of your fields. Are those aircraft parked at the back, are they F-16s?(I am a fighter-pilots wife).
How did Farrukh Fateh Ali Khan die, must have been pretty young. How come he did not get more recognition. Why did he not come into his own? What amazing loyalty to Nusrat. Pls share what you know about him.
Farrukh fateh ali khan ,sadly passed away in 2003,because of heartattack. And the man was absolute master of harmonium. He had many students including irshid hussain, who is still seen sometimes with Rahat.Actually the main reason of Farrukh saab not getting more recognition was that he played in company of nusrat, who overshadowed him, with his mesmerising voice. But no means.a true legend and hero for pakistanis.
Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan was the leader of the family Qawwali party from 1971 till his untimely death in 1997. Farrukh Fateh Ali Khan was one of only two people who remained members of the party throughout this period. Farrukh played the lead harmonium, and provided accompanying vocals. His talent to play in all scales and his ability to switch a tune at a moment's notice are arguably the best in his profession.
While accompanying Nusrat to England, he became widely known as Harmonium Raj Sahib (King of the Harmonium). His talents and accomplishments often went unrecognized due to playing in the shadow of Nusrat.
He remained a member of the party when his son, Rahat Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan took over the leadership of the party after Nusrat's death. Farrukh Fateh Ali Khan died on September 9, 2003.
o man this is so beyond uber cool. Only nusrat's name usually comes out amongst the party but its the other performers too who were equally brilliant. Be it faruukh ali khan or dildar hussain or the person on the right with the harmonium
hey guys does it matter what type of atta you use? and do you guys know how large the head is of the dhamma that the great ustad dildar hussain is using and also if there is there a very huge quality difference in various sufi dhamma's because i myself am planning on getting one. what is a dhul?
listen all of u....he is using a regular tabla dhamma, but its doesnt have the normal masala.. on it..it has atta, the stuff u make chipatis out of..which gives it a more deeper sound..
thats right... do you know what are the differences(if any) between the sikh style dhamma and the sufi style(qawwali) dhamma? I have a couple of sikh dhammas myself...
what are you talking about?... Dildar Sahib is playing a 'dhamma', I know b/c I have studied qawwali tabla and also play dhamma. Its like a bigger wooden bayan.
I am studying Pakawaj for the last 10 years and at some concerts in Kolkota, the qawwali guys sometimes use a Dhul. Most of the time its a Dhamma but I have seen them use the dhul also.
farukh is by far THE BEST HARMONIUM player..no keyboardist can match him.....he deserves to be in the mozart or Bethovan catagory of the harmonium....
This kind of talent will *never* get out dated. Please keep these coming. Dildar and of course Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and party - you are and will always be the very best.
maybe he did? but there is really no classical background on dildar himself, have u seen his singing vids on youtube, dildar is actually a folk singer> not a tabla player....and his dad played tabla for noor jaaan back in the days and his father taught him...dildar is a very great singer too....write back?
very interesting comment...his style rains in his own way - others in their own - the objective is to be creative and unique - a tabla players fame and respect comes mostly from thier own "niche", therefore I can say Zakir Hussien is the best...
Yes I agree he is fantastic absolutly my favorite as well, As a tabla player myself I always find myself so amazed at Dildarji's strength, stamina, tonality and he is just always so great at accompanying Nusrat... but the best way is to appreciate this is seeing all the great artists in Nusrats party, and how they come together to create this beautiful music. Farrukh is a master at the harmonium and of course there will never be anyone that can sing like Khansahib
