I did not find many people in Halifax friendly or welcoming. They seemed either cold, bored, uninterested or snobbish.

Otherwise the city Halifax itself was okay for a 2 day visit. Nothing really outstanding about the city. Nice harbour at least.

How old is this clip! The old Midtown tavern was one of the buildings they drove by. Miss that place! Best place to have a beer after hockey with the boys. Say what you will about their steak, it was awesome after a skate and washed down with a Keith`s. Shitty what happened to the Eric and the boys in this backward looking town! To hell with the view, get in the 21st century will ya! Or do yu really think we have to keep those cannon arcs open in case the French ever invade again!?

i live in nova scotia and if you gonna live in halifax there are 2 parts the good part and the bad part in the bad part you have hobos (i like to say hobo) and deaths. but the good part is JUST AWSOME.

omg you ppl are delusional. This place is full of violent crime. I've lived there for almost 30 years and am so glad I don't live there anymore. I do miss the Halifax water front in the winter but other than that the city can be stressful to live in.

I've lived in Halifax my whole life. I have to say although it does have its flaws, it's a great city. Yes there are some 'sketchy' places around, but overall it's a very nice place to live. My Dad grew up in Oshawa, Ontario and he told me that it was a huge change coming to live here. When random strangers would ask him how his day was going he thought they were going to pick his pocket. XD

I learned about Halifax from the Pomegranate phone:-) Just google it. I'm from Germany, so I have no grip at all what the people in Eastern Canada are like. I understand Bavarian people and the Dutch, I know what to expect from the French and the British. Russian too. It's strange to be looking at a place like this where many things seem so familiar, down to those ducks, yet not to know the people and what they are like. There are 3xpeople in Berlin than in the whole of NS.

I have lived in Texas all my life, seventy years. Through the years i have studied maps and often wondered what it was like in Nova Scotia. Several years ago my wife and I flew to Providence, R.I., rented a car and drove from there to Halifax. What a beautiful place. I suspect that one of the gates to Heaven must be out at Peggy's Cove. I have seen few places as beautiful.

I used to live in Halifax, Nova Scotia about 11 years ago. I was about 5 years old when I left there. Went to Duc de'anville elementary, or however you spell that school, haha. I remember bits and pieces. At 6 years old I moved to Mississauga, Ontario and lived there for 10 years. Now I'm in Philadelphia, PA in the United States. I'd have to say Mississauga is the best city I've ever lived in my whole life.

Well... there is a compton st in Halifax. Between Robie and Windsor streets towards quinpool rd. If your going there for collage i got one thing to say. Don't go in Dartmouth if you dont know the way of the land. When i went there oh god my family was lost for like an hour in a half. becuase there very little street signs. but in cape breton theres street signs on every corner so i guess thats what im used to.

I miss Halifax a lot tonight, so I've been looking at a lot of YouTube videos. When I left Halifax I was sick of it, especially the fact that there were no jobs or opportunities for grads... but being here in Seoul, I actually find that the thing I miss most is Halifax and all the character it has. You honestly can't find that character anywhere else.

Your right about the no job opportunities for grads. I moved here from Ontario after college, and I love it here...except I can't get a job without being over qualified and only making like $13.00. Halifax actually reminds me a lot of Stratford/Ottawa, Ontario, and even a little bit of Montreal, Quebec. It's beautiful here.
