@blacang3l The photopaper looks better and is a bit stronger. Photo isn't that pricey these days though. You could make one with regular paper though.. the only drawbacks are that the glue will make the paper buckle and lose it's rigidness during construction. However, with controlled amounts of glue and caution it will probably be fine. It does take a steady hand and assembly skill. I'd love to see one you make.
@blacang3l The photo paper is the way to go. For me, all the time invested in actually cutting the pieces and patiently gluing them together is too tedious to use mediocre materials. If you don't have access to photo paper you might try cardstock.
THE VID WAS DONE ON MY IPOD NANO WITH CAMERA BUT IT WON'T TRANSFER TO MY COMPUTER WITHOUT DELEATING EVERYTHING SO I'LL SHOW YOU THE NEXT BEST THING I DID WITH THE GUITAR.
Thank you man! This is great project indeed. I can't wait to get some more picture paper and give it a shot. I got the bulls-eye gibson. I can't afford to drop 2-3 grand on a guitar as well! lol!
@Glockenator Wood would probably dull the blade and the cuts would build up a rough texture on the surface of it which would eventually chip off. A real self-sealing cutting board doesn't do that and your blade stays sharper longer. They also have rulers and nice squaring grids printed on them. I saw where you removed your other message.... you were right in the mix of it all I misidentified the tuner as a pickup... I was reaching for words at the moment. Sorry!
Yeah. Could be that my glossy paper is just not the right kind, my knife is pretty sharp but as soon as I try to do something as fine as the strings, it tends to drag the paper along with it and makes rough, ugly cuts.
great vid man

Have you made any of the electric guitars?
Have you the white Gretsch acoustic which was like the white penguin?
It wasn't on the site long I don't think?
Were there any other models which are not there that you know?
I have made 18 so far. I have made a small tube guitar stand from paper.

Cool model guitars.
That's me below.
Check my vid. It's long and boring.
No annoying background track.
But the model guitars are awesome.
My smallest is a green LP 6.5cm small.
I started a few months back. After seeing your vid here. Cheers.
Rock on.

Very Cool> I have made 18 electrics so far out of their 38 guitar collection.
Many have options to make more than one type of the same guitar, such as gold or silver pieces.
I make mine about 10cm small. The smallest is 6.5cm.
I hang them in my car from rear vision mirror. Change them often.
A Vid on uTube is on its way.
Rock on.

@Parksart Good point
Glockenator 1 year ago
@race1717 you can get a cutting board at Hobby Lobby or any craft store fairly cheap. It works well.
Parksart 1 year ago
@Parksart Where did you get the blade?
race1717 1 year ago
@race1717 It's just an xacto blade. Any craft/hobby store or department store should have one.

yeesss plzz make a tutorial on how to make it
JujumatX 2 years ago
How on earth do you get the strings so straight??
Mine always get twisted up.
BarryDennen12 2 years ago
I use a very sharp x-acto blade and a steady hand! The sharp blade helps, but I guess 30 plus years of being an artist helps a bit too!
