background music isnt necessary....the concept of the show is so strong that it doesnt need musical support...music is only making me lose focus from what he is saying...mr. devdutt you are simply amazing!
@megadethfff I think most of what he says is HIS interpretation of our mythology, and he does contradict himself a lot of times and maybe doesn't even seem to have the best answers always. what Devdutt did tell me is that reading our scriptures 'can' give us a nice new approach to managing things around us. In other words, learn from others' experiences (but don't always follow them if you don't agree). If start taking his view as the final one, we didn't get it in the first place.
@anksphenomenon Ya very true...copying other's views and opinions is hypocritical when it doesnt make sense to person. Anyways i havent seen someone mr. devdutt, i ve started reading his books. That makes me a fan! :-)
kauravas in heaven was an illusion created to test yudhishtra. it was to purposely set so that yudhishtir gets to demonstrate his only thing that he has not conquered
@pranavg1181 thanks mate i was about to write that,i just didnt want anybody to remain ignorant abt this particular point.thanks very very much indeed, people need to be enlightened,we need more learned and knowledgeable people.i really like the way mr devdutt explains the shastras in such a true simple manner though.
Incidentally.. while the principle to do business and governance is noble no doubt in the indian belie, the indian scenario was always CAPITALISTIC, both in principle and practice. The concept of socialism that came after independence was foreign to indian scene..
The story says that everyone who dies in the war goes to heaven, since a way Krishna caused their death. And the lord only takes people to his abode.. the ultimate charity! This is true for Ramayan as well..
A correction - Duryodhana was known to be a good and charitable king..! Dont assume that since he was at war with pandavas, he was a 'bad man'.. quite a stereotypical assessment!
The sights of heaven and hell were there to test Yudhistir. Once he passes the test, the heaven and hell he saw at the beginning disappear and the real heaven is shown where Pandavas are there.
it was a interesting theory but i really dont accept the fact given for the kaurvas attaining heaven....because of the holy land they attained heaven....it is something much deeper which nobody knows i presume.!!
@ankur15 yeah, the direct conclusion one can draw from that is you can follow path of pleasure and vanity and die on some piece of land and still be in heaven.
@MichToJoshya you are not getting the point...what this story tells us is "have forgiveness in your heart and not anger"...moreover as he explained - heaven is just a stop-over not a final stop....if it was the final destination, then there's no hope for getting a better life once your are in hell..right? Imagine what a terrible situation that would be.
@ankur15 Why Kaurabas went to heaven? I think it's not because they died in the holy land (That's just a lighter side of telling the story - a joke), instead they accepted their crime, paid price for it by truely accepting the defeat without harbouring any animosity against Pandavs thenafter. "Let Go" and get enlightened as Taoists say.
Businesses are done to create profits(well nobody does business for loss). In a business model such as manufacturing or even retail, an entity sells products for a higher price than it's actual face value and that is out right "Adharma". If we are to follow the true "Indian business model" that advocates "Dharma", then it should be the barter system for there is no loss nor any "profit" involved in it.Though, I agree that it is impossible for we are "animals" to a large extent.
It was an illusion to test Yudhisthira... this is what wiki says.. /wiki/Yudhisthira

Barkha Dutt: This is a communal show. India is a secular country where such shows cannot be allowed.
Javed Akhtar: This show will lead to mass murder
Salman Khurshid: This show needs representation from minorities.
et al...

About the Kauravas going to heaven, they were serving Krishna by being part of this story. It's all about serving Krishna.
