You know what they need to do is make a TV reality show based on the Pharmacy. So that the general public can see the kinda crap we all deal with in the Pharmacy...ranging from PA's, insurance rejections, controls being filled too soon, to bitchy patients...LOL...
At Osco, we have the same problem, I don't think it matters what company, all the customers like to rotate where they go. Then compain when you don't know what they are talking about or why something got sent to another location.
Ah the things I do NOT miss about being a pharmacy tech! After 2+ years, it's a miracle I didn't pull a customer over the counter and beat them to death for some of the stupidity I had to endure.
The coupon thing pisses me off every time. Give it to us the first time around, instead of after we've done all the work. It might only take a few minutes, but when there's a queue going, we're not going to drop everything and take care of you first.
Most definitely CVStress!!!! This is exactly how my customers act on a daily basis!! Especially the part about the Dr. sent it in 20 mins ago...thinking it is going to be ready. SMH!!
Most definitely CVStress!!!! This is exactly how my customers act on a daily basis!! Especially the part about the Dr. sent it in 20 mins ago...thinking it is going to be ready. SMH!!
@salawasweet You have to scan, type, review, check stock, count, double count and verify each rx. There are also people that drop off in drive or who are shopping that may have been there before you.
@salawasweet1989 - it's because we have to scan your script, type it, have the pharmacist check the type, print it, get the med from the shelf, fill it, have the pharmacist check the completed item, then call you up to pay for it. in that time frame there may be a problem with your insurance, or with having the item in stock, we say fifteen minutes to give ourselves time to resolve those issues. if there aren't any problems then you get your prescription before that time.
@salawasweet1989 Even if no one is in line, we still have to take the time to put your prescription in the computer, make sure there are no insurance rejections or script errors, produce it, and have it verified by the pharmacist before it can be given to you. So, fifteen minutes is pretty standard.
@jrcfreeday I agree. I work at CVS, and a lot of people hand me a card as I'm ringing their order up. I've come to the conclusion that most people think its like a normal coupon that can be rung through the register.
how dumb are you to wait 10 minutes in line JUST to drop off an Rx with MANY people in front of you. ..
then wonder why the Rx is doing to take MORE time? Did you already FORGET about all of the people that were just in front of you? OR perhaps you didn't hear me say AT LEAST 20 MINUTES to each one of them?
To play moron's advocate, $30 is a lot of money for some people. Although instead of arguing she should have had the coupon out.. Drug companies just charge a lot of money for medicine, albeit they do have to pay many skilled people to create it. I personally appreciate pharmacists.. when I get worried over certain pills that might activate an allergy or some other small pill matter, they're kind enough to take my call.
My favorite part was the customer making the payment at the end. Customers are so stupid with the credit/debit card machines. It's crazy. It's like "Do you know how to read for God's sake!?" haha
If it was me at counter, I would have to explain to them that coupons are not valid for medicare patients due to federal kickback laws. Then they freak out at me say, "well wallmart lets me use them!"
@83yourface I think every pharmacy in America gets the same lol. I worked at a small independent chain, and guess who we got? The people who got kicked out of all the other major pharmacies. Awesome, eh?
@JessDanielle11 i don't care if you spell STUPID to me, give me your LAST NAME.
i have circular conversations for 5 minutes to determine the last name, at the end of which I go "we have _ _ _ _ as your last name" and they go THAT'S THE SAME NAME. . . no Mrs. Kennedy-Smith, it is not
The best is when a customer waits in line, hears you tell the eight people ahead of them that the wait is 30+ minutes due to the volume of customers and then ask to wait and upon hearing what they've just heard you say EIGHT TIMES get indignant and demand that you do it faster, because "how hard is it to take a bottle off the shelf and hand it to them?"
@phantom6 and when they decide they want to pay for the other items that are not located at the pharmacy so it takes an extra 5 min to finish their order when people are standing behind them.

they have the option to press continue or cancel..and they ask me what to press!
and when they sign for credit...its either ok or clear. they press clear.
