@goneriding11 I just moved from a 230 to a 250x. i am about 5 6 myself. all i did was install a kouba lowering link and shaved about an inch off the top of the seat.
you ll be fine without messing with the seat. when you cut the seat, you get a wider seating area and for me its way more comfortable than the stock seat.
this bike is way more comfortable to ride than a 230 and more fun.
The bike is much quieter with a muffler than it would be with a straight pipe... hence it silences the bike. True, they are louder than stock, but they are much quieter than if you were running straights on a bike like this.
they call it a silencer on a 2-stroke its called a muffler on a 4-stroke and its because it does make it more quiet if you hear it with only the header on.
Ill put up a new video as soon as the weather permits. It needs valves now so its going to get a port and polish. It also has a wiseco high compression piston and 04R cam with air box and jetting mods. This thing rips harder than all of my buddies stock Rs with exhaust.
@spydaman97t not criticising ur decisions but if ur engine has all those mods why not just buy a 250R, do u enduro ride if so fair enuff, i got a stock YZ 125 and i smoke everyone with hotted up 250Rs, got nothing against 4 strokes tho keep the vids comin
well the x has a wider transmission and a headlight and electric start and you can make it street legal so thats always cool lol oh and suspension is a bit more plush, these 4strokes are nice but still cant beat the 2-strokes! yz125s are beast.
@RedBullBurger25 fair enough, my dad has an old suzuki rmx250 (enduro) and it is so much for comfortable to ride than the motocross bike, and the headlight and electric start, i mean sometimes wen ur stuck on a hill, who wants to try and kick a bike over
i dont know man, my 2003 crf450r runs sooo strong, everything in the motor is original. she just needs a valve adjustment every now and then. oh and it kills chains and sprockets like nothing else!
well no it didnt blow up but i was checking the valves and shims, and i took off one cap then my dad got the other one and the c clip fell in the crank case and i still havent got it out
hey im 15 about 125 lbs is this a good bike for me to buy i have rode before a xr100 for a few years i ride mostly trails but i would like to start up with more jumps please help me out.
i'm 5'7.5 and just like u ive rode a xr100 for about 3 years. im about to get this b/c i rode my friends yz250f. i fit it pretty well and its easy to control. the question is which brand will u go with??? four stroke 250's are as good on trails as they are on tracks
go for the crf250r i just bought one after riding a ttr125 for 2 years. ive riddin the yz and the kx and crf is still way more fun and has more power and you can still ride it on the trails and the track
im '5 "10, its still a pretty big bike for you and me, my frend and his father both have yz250f's, id go with a CRF230F, they are about your size, im not saying this becuz i have a 230 either, i dont own one, i have a trx450r, but i mean 230's are around your size
The way they come stock is extremely trail friendly. They have low end torque cam. So they have all the benefits of a xr but still have gobs more top end, lighter mx frame, and awesome suspension. Where i ride mostly there are no trails I make them myself so its nasty and slow, but i can still go out on the mx track and hang with my buddies on crf250r's. You really beat this bike for all around performance.
I'm not quite sure what it is. When I bought it the previous owner had that done. But, behind the mesh is some type of bondo or glue, so I suppose that it is custom
Its not bad at all. I believe it is under 97-98. It's not a real raspy sound so it doesnt seem as loud, but still sounds very nice. It previously had a FMF Q2 on it and it was extremely quiet! This added some growl and topend
I was gonna get a 250x, but Igot the 06 250r instead and I love it! Your 250x is very cool man!

yamaha3595 2 years ago
would you suggest the yz or the crf. i am worrying about maintenance costs and how much work i have to do on it.
tarheelfan94 2 years ago
the yzf is way more reliable but has crap suspension, crf way better performance but it will cost more to maintain,, i've got a crf250r
minidime92 2 years ago
lol too late i already have a yz250f. its a great bike though, wouldnt trade it 4 anything
tarheelfan94 2 years ago
yzf has the best suspension in the 250f class. just a bit less engine performance. but its deff the most reliable.
tarheelfan94 2 years ago
should ve gone with the yzf, my crf has been out for a month now
minidime92 2 years ago
oh man that sucks. did it blow up? i know crf's will get out quickly if you aren't religious about maintenance.

spydaman97t 3 years ago
that has a nice grunt how quiet can you get it down to like a xr by any chance
Dirtriderxr250 3 years ago
not quite but close. it barks quite a bit when up top.
spydaman97t 3 years ago
ya but theirs way more prefomance than an xr

Its not bad at all. I believe it is under 97-98. It's not a real raspy sound so it doesnt seem as loud, but still sounds very nice. It previously had a FMF Q2 on it and it was extremely quiet! This added some growl and topend
