He's in Brazil and today I watched him playing with Steven Mead (Euphonium). They played Czardas at the end and it was AMAZING!!! Unfortunately I couldn't record their performance...
Gourlay is great! Just played two concerts where he played Fraser's "Tuba Concerto" with the National Youth Wind Orchestra. Great player, really nice guy too.
I'm so impressed ^_^ I used to think that all tuba music just sounded like that horrible, muffled, fat-guy sound but that actually sounded pretty great! especially the beginning with just the tuba. :)
The piece is called "Going Down" by British composer Andy Scott and published by Astute Music. It comes with the backing track CD! Andy has also just written a Tuba concerto for Les Neish.

Just heard him play it at Tubonium at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter MN, it was amazing! Love James Gourlay, such a nice and genuine person.
