Dr. Laura is totally against the idea of a stay at home father as she thinks that it is the man's job to go out to get a job as the wife stays home with the children. I am all for women who want a career and there is nothing wrong with a man doing a woman's work. Even though I have no children and not married, I totally support this idea of a stay at home father!
You know, Ive been taking a lot of heat by my fiance's coworkers and friends for being a Stay At Home Dad, I don't know why she tells me their talks, probably to push me to get a Job and have her stay home. But she makes more money at this point than I can if I were to obtain a job now. Biggest insult I got was that I'm just a "free babysitter", basically saying because she's making the money it's her's not our's. I remember when I was making the money and she was home it was our's not mine.
@levelselect You are challenging stereotypes. There is always going to be resistance when that happens. Keep up the good work. Focus on the time with your kids. You know what you are doing is the nest thing. Sub our videos and visit our web site. Lots of support there.
Due to the economy I am a stay at home dad. I have been taking care of our now 22 month old boy/girl twins for the last 14 months. When people say anything about not having a job, I just ask them to take my role for a week and then tell me I dont have job. My job is probably harder than most and I dont get paid.
@vickersx2 You've got a job! And a really challenging one, at that. Congrats and keep up the good work. Visit DadLabs to get more info from other stay at home dads.
@DadLabs Thank you very much. I love the videos by the way. The potty training one killed me. "I just invite my kid in when I'm taking a dump"..LOL! Perfect.
I am a women and i love to work, and refuse to stay home, my husband loves to stay home and clean and take care of the kids and he says he feels great as a care taker at home, stereo types of the man working is so over rated, just do what makes you happy.
If I had a wife that wanted to work while sending the kid to daycare I would tell her no, either you stay home or I will. I won't have my kids raised in daycare. Someone has to be responsible.
yes.. I think more men should stay at home - there are a lot of benfits for the kids... but no doubt about that... mum & dad both roles are very important for the kids !
People need to quit equating things as being feminine or masculine. These are children that are being raised...get over it Patsaxon.

@levelselect It sounds to me like your "wife" is a big prick, therefore it's time you either demand equality or dump her. Good luck, : )
