  • still a classic, love it

  • Just for the music :≈±

  • Spaceballs changed everything... State of the Art is the best demo for so many reasons...

  • 3 Atari ST users have watched this!

  • @twinturbo99 I'm an Atari ST user and I still find this awesome. What if instead of arguing about our systems just enjoy them?

  • When I first saw this, is when I truly realized how powerful computers were becoming. I was literally amazed. -mM

  • the good ole days!! Jesus on E's anyone??

  • the floppy loader noise ruins it :<

  • When i saw this demo first time i had C64+floppy. Imagine what i felt. It was like teaching something divine, many sleeples night after that :D Lucky for me parents bought me A1200 few years later.

I think today no hardware can give you such a feeling. Yes Playstation 3 have better graphic then PS2, but its not SUCH a difference like between Amiga and 8bit computers.

  • This should be rereleased.

  • Still Amazing 7mhz 68000 processor, 512KB Ram (1/2mb), 880kb floppy disc, this whole in fits on 1/2-1/4 a standard mp3 file. Just impressive for the time.

  • @cloverlief Before, Coders were real performers! Some kind of genius!

  • @NoumaiosDeLaCampa i work with coders who earn £1500 per day and they dont know shit...these guys were the real deal right here....all in 700k wtf!!!!

  • 3:48 Youtube doesn't do it justice. Need a real AMIGA and and CRT television.

  • @zpunout You're right. Youtube can only display 30fps max. This demo runs at 50fps so lots of frames are lost and the strobe effects are totally ruined! In fact this goes for lots of Amiga demos and games on youtube.

Now if only Youtube would suppurt up to 60P! :D

  • man wheni saw this first time my jaw went to the floor...

    still impresive

  • @droutsolias Me too ! :)

  • Omg this brings back some memories!

  • @KawiKaRs Glad to help. :)

  • i remember this one, i was astonished as anyone.

    I still miss the.

Anyway the demoscene is still alive, but imho, less inspired but not so bad.

It's no matter of hardware, but fantasy and immagination.

  • @GTElwood I understand what you're saying. The good old days, but there is still a good C64 & Amiga demoscene going....................though you can't beat the 80's & early 90's that'll never be repeated.

  • @macwhoelse Care to explain why the 4:3 Amiga screen is s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d to widescreen?

    .

That's not how it's supposed to look. You wouldn't take the original TNG video and stretch it. Neither should you distort this demo video

    .

  • @electrictroy2010 Care to explain why my channel has 462,012 views & yours has 719?

Where were you in the scene? Not showing respect, that's for sure.

  • @GTElwood i dissagree..

to have a good demoscene tha hardware must nbe tha same so that you can show off your abilities and push the hardware beyond its abilities

now with the PCs if something is not working good just put another i7 and 8GB of ram and problrm solved

  • I wonder if Steve Jobs will go back in time and sue Spaceballs for copying his iPod adverts??

  • @paulamorrison lol, yeah. :)

  • Look what I found - Interview with the Dancer in State of the Art

    .

"My name is Jannicke Selmer-Olsen. I am nearly 17 years old. I dance disco, jazz, freestyle once a week. The 6 other days I use at playing in a musical called Pleasure Done with the dance group Behind The Mask. If I've got time I'm also a girl guide. Paul is also one of my interests

  • Una de mis demos preferidas de mi querida Amiga. Qué lástima que Windows hiciera desaparecer este magistral ordenador.

  • @nikysch Sí, una gran demostración :)

  • Great but wrong aspect ratio.

  • @DrCain1 Yeah, I made it like that for you tube. :)

  • ALL THE COLOURS!!!!! ALL THE.. EVERYTHING!!!

    Only Amiga!

  • @nutellajunkie Yeah ! :)

  • My favorite... :)

  • @Zsirharang Good choice. :)

  • When was this created?

  • @Surebreon 1992

  • @macwhoelse Danke! :3

  • @macwhoelse But ironically it needed 1987 hardware (the Amiga 500) to work properly. This video could have been released in 87 and worked just as well

    .

My PC has a 3000 megahertz processor and it still can't play this video properly. It's too slow!

  • @harleykman & the Amiga 500 ran at a whopping 7Mhz ! lol :)

  • @Surebreon a million years before the word multimedia was created ;)

  • @nutellajunkie lol. So true. :)

  • About time my fave amiga demo came out sorta

ok without installing amiga emulator. But does

go black screen for a couple of times..

Thanks for the Better than posted b4

  • @ramog Yeah, not sure what happened to movie maker. Threw a wobbly when making this. :)

  • Glad you like it. :)

  • that is wicked!!

  • This was jaw dropping back in the day ! :)

  • Amazing!

  • Agreed.

  • wicked

  • It certainly is. :)

  • ya their bst musician

  • Agreed. :)

  • anyone knows what the song was called that came with this demo?

I remember Spaceballs, Felix - dont you want me and something called utter?

  • condom corruption is the .mod in this demo

  • Thanks !

  • travolta - condom corruption ^^

  • Yeah great name ! :)

  • Apologies for the end of this video where it blanks for a couple of seconds. Don't know what happened. A cross between Vista 64, Fraps, Movie Maker, Video Codecs, driver issues but most of all User Error in the editing department. lol :;

  • Of course it's a great demo.

Back in the day, I was convinced the animation was created using some clever edge tracing algorithm. I tried to implement something similar myself and got pretty good results for tracing vectors (which are all straight lines anyway) but it fell over on more complex digitised images.

Then this year at Breakpoint someone told me it was all hand traced. Maybe they are right, but I hope not. I know good tracing algorithms do exist - there is some doc. on Wikipedia.

  • I bow to your superior knowledge as always. I used to show this back in the day just to watch friends jaws hit the floor. Good times. I'm still waiting for You Tube to process the HD video version. lol
