  • I Have to say you cant mix rap and jazz.. jazz is too good to be mixed..

  • @TheAllianceIDP

    that doesn't make any sense

  • It's probably a generation thing ... but to be honest like many ... seeing those clowns' antics detracts from the music for me ... and greatly disappointed not to hear Tim Hagans lay out a solo on this one ... waste of talent in my opinion

  • I need more videos of this concert!!!! very very good

  • At least it's more soulful than a lot of what Jazztimes and Downbeat give rave reviews...and way better than a lot of the rock-fusion that people make and call jazz. I mean the mc's aren't half bad and Greg Osby is killing...what more do you want?...ok I could do with out "The blue traaaainnn...." at the end of it...lol...but don't hate people.

  • Hey at least it exposes kids to a music genre that they may not have normally discovered, if they look up the original artist we may well introduce another person to the 'TRUTH' peace.....

  • The dumbing down of America is pretty much evident by great jazz players letting these YO-YO's share the stage with them in an effort to "reach" the minds of this lost generation...if they CAN'T relate to TRANE as it was meant to be heard....why bother? Let them listen to Eminem ...somebody on their level!

  • Awesome. Jazz meets hip hop. This is something for the future. I don't understand why so many peaple are hating on this.

  • some intonation problems on soprano....

    all over the place

  • Lose the two chumps and let the guys play...

  • NOT TERRIBLE - you just can't accept a fresh apporach to anything, including something historic like John Coltrane. BE CREATIVE, AND BE HAPPY YOU'RE ALIVE< BASTARD

  • Sad to see the corruption of such wonderful music.

Especially in Japan where jazz still lives a far greater existance than here in the states. Over 100 jazz venues in Tokyo, dozens in osaka and even kobe. Here in Detroit you can count them on one hand.

  • Trane would rollover in his fucking grave!!

It sickens me to hear great jazz players like Osby and Hagins resorting to this kind of bullshit.......and it IS bullshit.

  • I can't handle the funk!!

  • hip hop and rock are dead what about jazz?

  • Jazz is God's music... n as long he's alive Jazz is going to be too

  • true but not many records coming out lately

  • But there is always the option of looking to the past, there's a reason why Bird lives, is because his music never dies..(Charlie Parker)

  • At 1:37 something definately goes WRONG

  • genius

  • cool to hear a funky version of this song

  • that's steve masakowski on guitar.

  • This is the shiznit..fits perfect into my Jazz/ World music favorite restriction..5 shinein' stars!

  • Nice one Bobbeldon. Thanks for posting this.
