That brings back memories of the 5 o'clock chime that would ring in Satsuma Sendai City. . . Ah, the good old days. I only got to live in Japan for a couple of years, but what a beautiful country, culture, and people!
nice description...I still enjoy listening to these nursery songs that I grew up with...this one invokes a lot of childhood memories..thanks for sharing...hontou ni arigatou gozaimashita....
@EriSatie hahahah...me too....hearing it again now that i'm 27 just invokes a lot of childhood memories.....let's sing along...isshoni utatte kudasai ^__^
I do not understand every word, but I'm recognizing some like mountain, go home, crows, children, baby bird, dream, in the sky and stars.
I've started to actively try and learn Japanese three years ago and I'm beginning to grasp it a little bit now. I really like this song it's very sweet and I'm glad someone translated it for us non Japanese people. These kind of children's songs are very valuable in my opinion. I find it very nice to learn what songs people from other countries learn as kids.
i do not know the meaning of the song. But my father vsed to sang this beautiful song

Hey, dude!
Thanks for posting this song!
My dad used to sing it as a lullaby, for me and my brother when we were really small children.
Really nostalgic and touching...

"Fiery Sunset"
The day ends with a fiery sunset
The mountain temple's bell rings
Let everyone go home, hand in hand
The crows go home together too.
After the children returned home
Appeared the big, round moon.
While the baby birds dream,
In the sky the golden stars twinkle.
