This looks great but they should have made FFXIII clash with FFXIII versus. Now that would have been epic. The only problem in this game is that the storyline sucks.

I liked the first 13 game a lot better than this one. I felt this one didn't flow too well with the story, though time is always an iffy concept, I understand it to be confusing, however there were so many other ways to continue the first game and make that one better. This one felt too different. In the end I couldn't care less about Noel or Serah, I wanted to see more of Hope and Lightning, which I hope they give in the 3rd game or dlc w/e they choose.
for those of you who are saying that 13 was a bad game, clearly you cant understand character development. i understand how you might not like the linear development of it. BUT if you pay attention to the story line it makes up for it by FAR. if you can get the undertone of the characters you can really understand what is going on between characters.

@Dicexblade I think it's because SE wasn't prepared to receive a lot of the feedback they did from the original XIII. I think they expected all the FF fans to die over fandom, but when they noticed a big decline in sales and positive feedback, they probably jumped on re-doing XIII in a way to make up for it.

Played the demo on PS3, The Crystarium system is much improved thank fuck and I like the idea of capturing monsters to use on your team (They have their own Crystarium too!). So far so good, just wish Lightning wasn't fucking dead? I hope the storyline is a bit more understandable this time, I know it's following on from FFXIII, but with all the Fal'Cie, l'Cie, Ceith and fuck knows what else, it became confusing sometimes. Seems to be a lot of main Char Girls too

The entire party didn't come together until far too late into the game where most people put the controller down or started booting up the game. Oh and most of the characters weren't all that good, IMO. Great characters help carry a story. 13 didn't have any. I did try, but I just couldn't finish it. However, 13-2 has sated most of those problems.

@ChibiAzz Yup, I know why they parted ways. But it hurt the game and it didn't make the story any better. I've played massive amounts of RPGs and it really hurt the game's flow by doing that to tell the story. For a few chapters would have been okay. NINE? That was excessive.
Sazh and Vanille each had two, and Lightning and Hope each had two. Now, I understand what you mean with Snow, but that's one of my only complaints with the characters. Besides, it wouldn't be entirely realistic for them to all want to destroy Eden, now would it? The way it was done, they could separate their backstories much more cleanly.

ahh thanks lol, still a terrible name :p I think FF games have lost all there original fans now.. In XIII the gameplay was non-existent. zero puzzle and zero mind required to play. Square Enix need to know we're not all retarded and we'd like to think a bit. The games used to be an adventure. now they're a light show.

Yes, on XIII the play was linear and when you defeat the final boss, the play is a little disappointing. But the story in itself and it's characters will get you emotionally involved with it, much like the previous Final Fantasy games. I suggest playing XIII before XIII-2. I have a feeling it's assumed you already know the characters and will dwell less. Besides, I really had fun with XIII.
I'm not saying I'm new to FF, but played few games of it(FFVII, and FFX). Im used to the "Kingdom Hearts" way of fighting, cuz of this is kinda complicated for me lol. But I want a different playstyle for once. Should I get this game? Cuz, it looks kinda cool (lets just hope this battle system isnt that hard) and cuz I heard they fixed the problems from the first one(never played it).

Sazh and Vanille each had two, and Lightning and Hope each had two. Now, I understand what you mean with Snow, but that's one of my only complaints with the characters. Besides, it wouldn't be entirely realistic for them to all want to destroy Eden, now would it? The way it was done, they could separate their backstories much more cleanly.

ahh thanks lol, still a terrible name :p I think FF games have lost all there original fans now.. In XIII the gameplay was non-existent. zero puzzle and zero mind required to play. Square Enix need to know we're not all retarded and we'd like to think a bit. The games used to be an adventure. now they're a light show.

Yes, on XIII the play was linear and when you defeat the final boss, the play is a little disappointing. But the story in itself and it's characters will get you emotionally involved with it, much like the previous Final Fantasy games. I suggest playing XIII before XIII-2. I have a feeling it's assumed you already know the characters and will dwell less. Besides, I really had fun with XIII.

I'm not saying I'm new to FF, but played few games of it(FFVII, and FFX). Im used to the "Kingdom Hearts" way of fighting, cuz of this is kinda complicated for me lol. But I want a different playstyle for once. Should I get this game? Cuz, it looks kinda cool (lets just hope this battle system isnt that hard) and cuz I heard they fixed the problems from the first one(never played it).
