Love Chopin - of all the great composers, I always feel such love of the piano in his music.

In regards to liking this music - I will never forget my choir director (a very long time ago now) telling us one day about another music teacher that let her class choose a song they would listen too every day, while the teacher chose a classical piece. After a week or two of this, all of the students were sick of the song they had chosen, but still enjoyed the classical piece.

1917 to 1921 was the period of the Russian Revolution and Civil War. The "last waltz" was the final hurrah of the old regime prior to its fall. It wasn't all bad... I am of White Guard (Russian emigre stock myself), so, it is a tribute to my forebears.

If you're motivated enough, you can watch videos and study on your own.

I took private lessons for some basic steps and then studied on my own that way and when I went back to my studio for further instruction, some new people thought I was one of the instructors haha.

It's esp. easy if you already have an ear/appreciation for the music.
