Why is everyone so critical? This shows that Alter Bridge was influenced by Zeppelin. Not a bad thing! Page didnt "recruit" Myles (Lead singer of Alter Bridge) because he was a trash job metal singer. The guy is a prodigy! And Zeppelin is my favorite band. I'm a HUGE Led Zeppelin fan, I have all their albums, I'm also a HUGE Alter Bridge fan, I have all their albums too. (the only other band I really like is The Beatles, but any ways) So when I saw this video, I almost exploded of joy. Myles Kennedy is one of those very few rock vocalists (like Robert Plant) that is a really great singer. But the thing is there really isn't very many Led Zeppelin covers that are very good, and Alter Bridge did not disappoint me. :-)
@mzgreendayfan Soundgarden did probably the best zeppelin covers, seeing as Cornell and Plant have similar vocal stylings and Kim Thayil simply dominates every song he performs on. Check them out. Also Santana and Cornell's cover of whole lotta love. Not perfect, but very good.

This is probably one of the reasons Myles was a leading contender to front the Page/Bonham/Jones project that never materialized. In Jimmy's book it was the promoter's who weren't sold on it... Too bad. MK kills this...
From what I read about this performance was that Myles stated that Led Zeppelin was the "best fuckin band on the planet". Something he probably shouldn't have said on a day dedicated to Ozzy and the crowd became a little irritated. To be fair to the crowd, who are use to the original, this is an unusal version to hear for the first time.
I have seen Myles Kennedy live in concert 6 times with Alter Bridge and Slash. He is very passionate about his music and it absolutely comes through within his vocal performance. Myles' vocal ability in my opinion soars over Robert Plant and Axl Rose, however, unlike Plant or Rose, Myles personality doesn't necessarily come through in his performance. In this song, he is on point! 2:35 to 3:10 is something I have never seen from him. He was born to sign this song. One hell of a performance!

Did they ever recorded this Cover in a studio because it's really an awesome cover, i have been trying to find a decent modern cover of this Led Zeppelin masterpiece, and i found it, but damn it's live =_=
@samrebardi It is a cover, that means you can give your own style to it, and in my opinion they did that pretty well, a cover isn't supposed to be exactly the same as the original.

I'm a HUGE Led Zeppelin fan, I have all their albums, I'm also a HUGE Alter Bridge fan, I have all their albums too. (the only other band I really like is The Beatles, but any ways) So when I saw this video, I almost exploded of joy. Myles Kennedy is one of those very few rock vocalists (like Robert Plant) that is a really great singer. But the thing is there really isn't very many Led Zeppelin covers that are very good, and Alter Bridge did not disappoint me. :-)

@mzgreendayfan Soundgarden did probably the best zeppelin covers, seeing as Cornell and Plant have similar vocal stylings and Kim Thayil simply dominates every song he performs on. Check them out. Also Santana and Cornell's cover of whole lotta love. Not perfect, but very good.

@mzgreendayfan Duuude, theres alot of great singer, myles kennedy is just the tip of the iceberg. Dont get me wrong, I love him, but Scott Stapp and Brent Smith is also revolutionary hard rock vocalists.

This is probably one of the reasons Myles was a leading contender to front the Page/Bonham/Jones project that never materialized. In Jimmy's book it was the promoter's who weren't sold on it... Too bad. MK kills this...

From what I read about this performance was that Myles stated that Led Zeppelin was the "best fuckin band on the planet". Something he probably shouldn't have said on a day dedicated to Ozzy and the crowd became a little irritated. To be fair to the crowd, who are use to the original, this is an unusal version to hear for the first time.

I have seen Myles Kennedy live in concert 6 times with Alter Bridge and Slash. He is very passionate about his music and it absolutely comes through within his vocal performance. Myles' vocal ability in my opinion soars over Robert Plant and Axl Rose, however, unlike Plant or Rose, Myles personality doesn't necessarily come through in his performance. In this song, he is on point! 2:35 to 3:10 is something I have never seen from him. He was born to sign this song. One hell of a performance!

@kf4wto I have to disagree here. This is a very respectable cover that keeps the integrity of the song in tact. And you said it- it's classic. If nobody ever revisits the classics how will they ever gain a new audience? They'll just die left unheard forever. I say it's more of a tribute than an insult. I doubt we'll see another Enconium- so here we go.
