i dont get ppl who focus on velocity (mph) so much, it really can be just a number when a pitcher only thinks of it as just that...
getting good leverage and strong trajectory is arm-strength...velocity only comes with arm quickness.
he throws kinda hard but seems ready to blow his arm before even rotating his waste. that's really no way to strengthen and just beckoning for a sore arm.
I dont think this is a good idea truthfully. You should be training your arm with what you use in the game, nothing different. Not to mention the heavier the ball, the more damage you will be flirting with. My senior year of high school I was able to hit low 90's out of a slide step without ever touching a ball that weighed more than 5 oz.
hey bro does that weighted ball thing really work? i thought it didnt help with velocity. do u throw the weighted balls at full intensity when youre training with them?
what you mean what happened? you should ask dick what happened. everything i said its true the weight room does help to increase velocity, i didnt increase any velocity when i worked with dick.
a kid on a jaeger sports video on youtube threw 360 ft which put him at 97 mph. im hitting the weightroom for legs this offseason and if i ever reached close to 350+ ft, i'm going to give up lefty throwing.
do you think it is possible for yourself to reach close to 100 mph righty, because you made a huge jump in mph since your earlier videos
look distance is not equal to velocity there are many factors that affect the distance when you throw. humidity, air, pressure a lot of things affect how far the ball goes, u can have it as a reference point for your progress but there is nothing like a radar gun. i dont know if i can get to 100 im focusinr right now to reach 90, another thing dude, if youre not gonna throw a ball this winter DO NOT USE WEIGHTS all the strength that u gain will be useless u have to combine them
no i am throwing this winter, down in my basement. i'm doing weights for legs, a core workout, and light dumbbell jobe exercises for my rotator cuff, plus cycling to lose weight in my stomach. thats pretty much my offseason
forget about loosing fat man youre not obese losing fat and gaining strength cannot be done at the same time, send me a private message to talk a little bit more because this thing is up to a limit, let me give you some advices so you can increase.
looks like the overload underload training works. gonna give it a shot in my basement this winter, how hard do you throw lefty righty without the crowhop?
hold on man the main thing that is increasing my velocity now is the weight room not this, maybe this doesnt help but because of the weight room im still increasing, so be careful im not saying it doesnt work, im just warning you that the main thing that increases my velocity now is the weight room
if you start reaching the 90s righty, are you going to give up switch pitching. thats what i think i might do and focuse more on being more dominant righty
well i have thought about it this way if i can reach 90 i will still try to be an ambidextrous pitcher if i reach 100 that will be a whole different story, im gonna start doing this week some things to level up my left with my right is just a matter of mechanics and flexibility now since is the same strength that i have on both sides. how hard are you throwing? righty
i'm not exactly sure on righty. i talked to the guy in charge of jaeger sports and he told me i should be close to 90mph if i havent reached it by now. i got out to 312 ft righty in 4 days. he said people out to my distance throw 90 so i should be there. im hoping to get a radar gun this yr and clock my long tosses.
Max, This is awesome. Your mechanics from both sides are looking almost exactly the same. It is incredible how much more velocity you have achieved in one year. Keep up the great work. Hammer

@ninjacookies257 Velocity has nothing to do with how far you're throwing when it's the difference between just 5-60 feet.

@platano203 yeah it helps i only use, 4 oz and 6 oz so yes i throw at full intensity 1 oz difference is not gonna hurt your arm

Also it looks like you've gained wieght since doing the momentum pitching DVD, Has this helped your velocity?
Brenen25 2 years ago
you bet i was 147 when i did it and now im 185, now i throw way harder and more consistent thanks to the strength which makes me more explosive.
alaestia 2 years ago
So how hard do you throw now, do you still use momentum pitching?
Brenen25 2 years ago
i havent gunned my self in a while i will post some videos pretty soon, check back. no im not using momentum pitching.
alaestia 2 years ago
Do you still work with dick mills? Do you still use momentum pitching?
Brenen25 2 years ago
What is this for? Is it for more velocity?
TheFastballpitcher 2 years ago
kinda yeah. its more to work your decelerator muscles, which will help in an increase of velocity.
