I am really sorry for you and your family and I know how you feel. I am a US citizen and they just deported my husband who has been here for 22 years--since he was 15 years old. My husband had Asylum when he came and was legal most of the time he was here. When he lost his Asylum they just threw him out and left me to care for our 5 children alone. My husband had his own business with employees and provided jobs in our fragile economy. it is not right to divide families over a piece of paper.

They apparently didn't check her fingerprints against the real woman they were looking for. So if our American kids run away from home, we have to check with ICE to see if they deported them to a foreign country?

@harker3355 The only case in which it would even be possible to deport a US citizen would be if a dual citizen was caught was their foreign passport, and their US passport was not in their possession. They'd still be able to travel right back into the US after though.

I just read the Art Bell thing, He messed up. there are many forms and all have a fee if you don't send things correctly thats what happens its the Govt. and they are idiots.His wife self deported by going to the P.I. Bell has enough money for a lawyer he should have got advice. Once you start the process you cant leave until its finished. Wife or close family member can not enter on a regular Visa. There are many websites that explain all this, he shoud have taken the time to read a little.

What a jackass. He could have filed for AOS for his wife and got her greencard. Either they were lazy or didn't want to spend the money. We are an Immigrant family too and been dealing with USCIS since 2001. Did all our paperwork as needed and paid all the fees and went to all the interview and fingerprinting. Yes it was PIA but we knew we had to do it. Everytime we had to go for interview we had to take day off, driver 4 hrs and stay but we did now we are having swearing in ceremony in Nov.

My husband had Asylum when he came and was legal most of the time he was here. When he lost his Asylum they just threw him out and left me to care for our 5 children alone. @harker3355 The only case in which it would even be possible to deport a US citizen would be if a dual citizen was caught was their foreign passport, and their US passport was not in their possession. They'd still be able to travel right back into the US after though.
One thing is ICE deporting someone, another thing is ICE doesn't have a place to deport US Citizens to.

The real problem here is not that she did'nt stop at the stop sign, but the greed of this country, ICE detention centers are springing up all over the country, from california to new york, these are private corporations run by companies like Haliburton, some detention centers can house up to 15,000 deportees temporarily until they are deported back to their native country, each bed in these facilites cost US taxpayers $700.00 per month, 700 x 15,000 equals millions, billions per state.GREED...

EVERYTHING else, you have to pay for and you are also expected to continue to support your family. In Mexico everybody in prison works. They have approximately 2% return rate too.

I just read the Art Bell thing, He messed up. there are many forms and all have a fee if you don't send things correctly thats what happens its the Govt. and they are idiots.His wife self deported by going to the P.I. Bell has enough money for a lawyer he should have got advice. Once you start the process you cant leave until its finished. Wife or close family member can not enter on a regular Visa. There are many websites that explain all this, he shoud have taken the time to read a little.

@jfsfrnd, If He had filed the paperwork, it may have taken years but if its filed for Adjustment of Status they will not deport...And you can work while waiting. As far as the talk show host's wife she could have had a criminal record that makes it harder and it doesnt have to be a serious offense, shoplifting can cause problems. If someone marries a US citizen they go to the front of the line, If it takes longer than 8 months then the Immigrant has a problem with their past. I

What a jackass. He could have filed for AOS for his wife and got her greencard. Either they were lazy or didn't want to spend the money. We are an Immigrant family too and been dealing with USCIS since 2001. Did all our paperwork as needed and paid all the fees and went to all the interview and fingerprinting. Yes it was PIA but we knew we had to do it. Everytime we had to go for interview we had to take day off, driver 4 hrs and stay but we did now we are having swearing in ceremony in Nov.

I am an American citizen in Arizona and of Mexican descent, we have been Native Arizonan's for 5 generations. My educated family is proud of the liberators coming from Mexico to take back the land of our ancestors. Hopefully by my grandchildrens generation the liberation will have been complete.
