I believe the book is a hoax. In the 1st chapter it says that Adam was the father of the White population. It also states that the Census ordered by Augustus, was the first of it's kind. Both of these are glaring errors. Also Meier could not have found a genuine 1st century manuscript containing the name Jmmanuel, spelled with a "J". The letter "J" was not used in any language prior to the 16th century.

Also in mythology Adonis is the Sun, and is also related to the word Adonai which is translated as lord in the Bible. Yes, Equinox are the days of equal day and night, and Solstice means that the Sun stands still, because it appears to rise and set a the same points for three days. There are a lot of sexual references in relgious writings-they all are references to regeneration. You will often see priests using the fallic symbol as they sprinkle "Holy Water" (sperm) on a grave. Many times they just go through the motions, without the water, but they are symbolicly "fertlizing" the ground or other objects.

I still believe in God. I don't believe in any of the messiahs. Those are all manmade to control people and mislead them from the force in the universe that's within us. Paul stated in Romans that all that can be known of God is revealed in us, and no one can come to the father except he be called by the father, so how is it logical to think that we must preach about Hell to frighten people and tell them they must believe in a crucified Messiah, when the only secular historical records of him, can be shown to be forgeries or interpolations.

Ur idea makes sense when u simply go by the bible. The stories in the bible and jesus are not original. There is no proof of heaven nor hell. U need to have just as much faith jesus as in if the devil exists. We were brought up to believe this is true by faith, but there is no evidence. Myths have been created because we do not how the universe fully works and to control people. The bible has also been edited so many times, but fear of eternal punishment as u said, keeps Christianity moving!
