Oh sure, let's not impose on your right to impose on ours, arrogant bitch.

There is not freedom from religion i the us? That is sick. With other words, believe in God or else. You can not force people to believe something!!!!!
when the fat one says "and intolerance is increasing [in europe]" I spat out my drink, when she says that atheists are the problem and need to shut up, and then turns around and says that Europe is going down because of Islam, it just shows how bad fox news is
Those two women need to sit down and read the constitution, which does specifically state there is a separation of church and state. Also, though the UK is having some major economic issues, they have fewer societal issues, lower crime rates and a more pronounced scientific community than the US.
I get so frustrated listening to these assholes talk. They just insult atheists with out any logical reason behind. "Atheists are not strong." How can she say such a statement and have people still take her seriously? Btw even though Stephen A Smith doesn't agree with the atheist cause I admire the fact that he stood up to the two arrogant cunts.
The reason In God We Trust should be removed from the American money, is because we are NOT a Christian Nation. We have religions from different parts of the world, religions that don't believe in God, but have a belief system set. That's why In God We Trust should not be on the money, because as he said, there's other religions. Christians assume everyone believes in THEIR Judeo-Christian God, when it is a shitty assumption.
@jubbles23 The Pledge should be replaced with a updated version. Without God. This is a Nation where God has never come into play, because WE did our OWN hard-work. We created what we've got now, through our own dedication to the betterment of mankind. We did not factor God into our hard work and dedication. That is why the Pledge should be replaced, or just taken away. And to the black woman who says we're attacking them because of us taking prayer out of school: SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE!
It seems to me like like the only one talking reason is the dude. He seem to be the only one that has a grasp on "equal rights." The short blonde doesn't even realise she's contradicting herself. She's all fine and good with telling a child "when he's too young to know what's going on" that he's supposed to believe in a man in the sky and that that man is real, to give a taste of my confusions, but she's against letting a kid decide for himself when he's old enough to understand. Tsk tsk tsk...
Man that panel hurt my brain. I love she says "I don't want atheist imposing their beliefs on me", then saying I want everybody to pray to god in schools. Classic.
how does one reach the platform of a nationally televised cnn discussion when they are apparently unable to grasp the concept of seperation of church and state? prayer in school, really?
america is better off than europe because we have less atheists? seriously?
atheists make up less than half of a percent of american prisons, while making up about 15% of the total population. which means there are 85% of people who do believe and they make up 99.5% of prisons.
It shows a really hsallow attitude when yoo demand "prayer back in school" and" they should shut up" , need to tihnk that tkaing GUS away fromt he kids is slightly more important. How many doctors have been killed by atheists ? When 98% of prisoners have a religion it implies that religion doesn't give you go morals.
This is not a Christian Country, why do they keep saying that stupid shyte. We are a country of multiple religions, cultures, & people. Now, you can state that we are a country free to practice which ever religion we choose, and christianity is predominatly practiced. But, you can't proclaim one religion for a free country. That silly sista is the one who needs to shut up. Hats off to the guy on the panel, he's the only one who seemed a true American. Atheist do not believe in nothing, stupid.
What sons of bitches. I'm sorry to whoever I offend, but this panel is unfair and obviously biased. How can they debate anything like this without an atheist person present? It's ridiculous.
And just FYI, a recent study showed that Denmark was the "happiest country on Earth". Through surveys and such, the people there are more happy and has much lower crimes rates than in places like the US. And guess what? The atheist/non-believing population is said be be as high as 80%.
Part one addresses atheists being ostracized and essentially run out of town. Even the children of atheists being bullied, by even the teachers. That is nasty, hateful stuff targeting individuals.
And then THIS panel (stocked with Christians) does not even address that. The woman on the left complains about Christians losing the right to pray in school? THAT is persecution compared to what atheists go through.
Christians like this are hateful, angry, intolerant people.
I love the hypocrisy. "You can believe Atheism if you want, but don't impose on my right..." Seriously? Oh, and the bit about Atheists are not the most discriminated against because you can't pick an Atheist out of a crowd? So then, it's only the one's who have the balls to publicly acknowledge their Atheism? How is that relevant?! When we talk about Atheists being persecuted, we are talking about KNOWN Atheists.
"There are a whole bunch of people in this world who we believe they should shut up and they certainly don't." I think the guy was talking about her mostly, lol.
This is so unbalanced not a single atheist/agnostic in the bunch. Why is USA's majority think it is being persecuted? Perhaps because people are deconverting in droves. In some parts of USA atheism is tolerated like carrying an air borne lethal virus.
Atheists aren't on the attack - We've just been slow in self defence. "God" was not on the money or in the pledge of allegiance until 1956, when it was added during McCarthy era hysteria. Now, I'm British - but I still know more American history than the CNN brain-trust there.
@Custador I agree with you, and you are correct about the pledge, but God has sadly been on our money much longer than the 1950s. That being said I've written my congressman numerous times about getting under god removed.

This is the problem with SOME christians , since they live there life in a bubble and deal with people mostly of the same faith, they always feel "assaulted" when ever there views aren't reinforced at every turn. 97% vs 3%, yet the 97% feels like there under assault? That's like me complaining that ants have too much power.
@TheDalinkwent Most of them feel assaulted because they know that don't have arguments when confronted with facts. Most don't even know the fundaments of their religion. I believe they are afraid of their belief system crumbling down, if they allow themselves to listen to another opinion.
@teogarno, Very true. It's amazing how defensive some people get when you asked them basic logical questions that refute there beliefs. They act like I have no right to even question the idea of God, while at the same time contradicting the Bible and the very God there defending. Quite sad actually.
Debbie and Karen you guys are fucking idiots okay your hyporcits. okay but the guy has point theres alot of people who needs to shut up and yes we atheists do have rights.
Oh I know, we atheists are SO scary...the whopping 3% of us...what a bullshit excuse for a "news" segment. Seriously, I had to remind myself I WASN'T watching Fox News.
lol i love how the black guy says basically you bitches need to shut the fuck up in calm way & basically make them step on there words who are you to test what anyone believe in
Religious does NOT equal moral!! Some of the most immoral, depraved and downright sick individuals are religious. Atheists didn't rape an entire generation of Alaska Natives (look it up, folks, it was on FRONTLINE). Atheists didn't put Jewish people into concentration camps, Atheists didn't kill millions in the crusades, Atheists didn't suicide bomb the twin towers. Atheist leaders don't use peoples' faith to scam them out of their money. Look at the evidence!! You wanna talk about MORALS?!
the black guy is 100% right. The two cunts arguing over the black guy saying how atheists are bad people need to shut the fuck up and stop being so hypocritical.
maybe it would have been a good idea to have an atheist included in the discussion? and why does the espn commentator have the most balanced view of the three?
"don't impose upon my right to have prayer in school and have God in the pledge of allegiance." in the context in was used was One of the ignorant comments that stood out the most. Sounds like Christians are imposing on Atheist rights to not believe in anything.
Oh I would have loooved to have been on the show with these "pussies"! I would have told them to FUCK OFF....and then advice them of their religious obligation , commandment if you will, to forgive me and not judge me for my belief. Meanwhile, I'll be having a latte, watching them wrangle in there own BULLSHIT!
As it is, we are arguing that no religious, nor non-religious, assertion be made within the Pledge. Although if we are honest with ourselves then we should all admit that the true God of the pledge of allegiance is Nationalism, and it's relationship to the ongoing wars and occupations by the U.S. (the pledge was firmly re-established simultaneously with the invasion of Afghanistan) means it is a tool of imperialistic indoctrination, which is why we should ban the Pledge altogether.
And for anyone who is self-deluding enough to think that demanding the removal of the words "Under God" from the pledge of allegiance is an imposition of Atheism within schools, please consider this---the words "Under God" are themselves an imposition of Christian beliefs and violate the rights of every non-christian in the school system, if atheists were attempting to replace those words with "Without a God", then you might have a point.
I have to admit that Stephen Smith really impressed me, despite the fact that atheists were entirely absent from this televised vitriol, there was still one person who argued against the ignorant comments being made even though he's a Christian. He was open-minded enough to not only admit the hypocrisy of Christians' accusations of intolerance on the part of atheists but was even willing to point it out when the others tried to ignore it. This kind of intellectual honesty is very refreshing
"I personally believe prayer should never have been taken out of schools"
Anyone can pray in school if they want to. Any religion, to any god.
The first amendment prevents church (religion) and state (public school) from being intertwined. That would include state employees (teachers) leading prayers.
I do, however, enjoy very much your assertion that atheists need to "SHUT UP...SHUT UP...SHUT UP" but yes. Christians are the ones being discriminated against.
At least the guy has some reason, a thing that other two assheads don't , i mean: " I disagree with their fight, but the have the right to make it, they don't have to shut up" the guy at least thinks.
When Screamin A Smith is the Voice of Reason...my goodness.
BTW America is one of the few countries to specify a separation of church and state in their constitution, and certainly one of the most strongly worded declarations of such. So almost all of what those airheads said is wrong.
I seriously can not wait for world wide destruction... to weed out all these weak minded "I need a God to save me" assholes.. how fucking childish can you be to need a god to give you your moral values? that shit is superstitious and ANY adult that needs that shit for moral comfort is a weak-minded individual and should be thinned out with the rest of the herd... I don't know how to think using intellect so umm God created it... bwahhhahaa fuckin losers... go worship santa claus while ur at it.
I don't like Steven A Smith for the most part but I really appreciate him standing up for us even though he isn't an atheist. I disagree with a couple things he said but I do respect him for defending our viewpoint. He is one of the only theists I have ever heard defend our right to not be forced into their line.
HAHAHA! I would laugh if the muslims went and took over their country and made that dumb bitch wear muslim gear and shit all day "Oh, it's a muslim nation now, you dumb bitch, now you need to just shut up and take it!" lol. What a bunch of BS. These fuckin' people can't ever imagine the shoe on the other foot. Thing is, religion is a bunch of BS and everyone knows it, therefore its just about power. The people in power love religion, because then you don't need a cop in every home.
If all christians were like these two bitches, I would hate them so much! Stephen is a cool dude though, I'm the same way, If you don't impose your beliefs upon me, I won't ridicule them.
Whenever a Christian women attempts to make an argument about their religion I like to quote the bible 1 Timothy 2:12: "I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent."
Christian beliefs = ignorance we where not founded as a Christian nation our founding fathers believed religion to be a dangerous concept if you don't believe me look it up either by going to the library of congress or read a history book
I don't understand how religion is such a big issue. It is all just a theory, nobody knows what happened and what's going to happen. Why do people like this classify and degrade other human beings based solely on a belief. Who the hell cares? Religion shouldn't be involved in anything, it should be a personal belief and not as dominant as it is. Everyone should be equal and have equal rights, and should not be told to "shut up" when expressing an opinion.
What kind of news program would do a report on discrimination against atheists, and then have three christians at the panel discussion? Then they proceed to ignore the whole point of the story to talk about how atheists are just big jerks, with Paula outright ingnoring data because it conflicts with her beliefs.
I mean, even Faux news will have a pet democrat on when it has a panel on a political issue, but CNN couldn't even do that?
Debbie Schlussel hates Muslims so much (I used to hear her on Howard during "Shock and Awe" days) that she's so gravitated the opposite way she's become a Jew for Jesus. There are many atheists who do not like Islam, but because Christianity is so reliably bigoted against Islam, they are her friends and everyone else can suck it. She's blinded by her own ideology.
@ahwowlovely i respect stephen a smith for being fair and being a true american.. that black bitch needs to die... sh is the type of scum thats making this coutry regress...she wants to keep prayer in school??? send this bitch back to midevil england, she will be happy there
Of the three panelists, Stephen A. is the only one who conducted himself admirably. The women made themselves to appear to the typical type of religious person we have to deal with all the time. Arrogant, ignorant, and desiring to impose their belief system on our country. They should be ashamed of themselves...
@bwconklin No, he conducted himself less disgracefully, he still agreed that America is a Christian nation, which is utter bullshit. I agree, that at least he had the sense to recognize that atheist have just as much right to speak about their beliefs without being attacked as anyone else. Prayer in schools though, during school time? This is the very definition of pushing your religious views on non-believers...and it's unconstitutional in a public school.
What on earth was CNN thinking when they did this segment? Hey, I got an idea. Lets invite three scientologist to talk about some people complaining about having psychological trauma. This segment is just outright moronic.
Just look at that jew attacking muslims, hilarious. And people wonder why there's no peace in middle-east.
She's somewhat correct about the islamization of Europe, but putting that on "weak" atheists is stupid and shows how she has a weak understanding of european social politics and geography.
@DeceptionCircus jews attacking muslims.. not new....whats funny is black chrisitans not realizing they are still slaves to there white masters, by following there slave religon " chrisitianity"
You think this controversy is because we don't have HALLMARK CARDS?! This level of sheer condescension makes me want to shoot these ignorant bastards in the face! Of course, I would never do that because if I did, they would have a program on why atheists inspire so much violence too.
Christians are strong huh??? HA!LMAO! My whole family believes in God and I'm the only one who doesn't (not enough facts for me). If they are so strong why is the christian divorce rates just as high as the non- believers... Shouldn't they be able to fight there way threw and make their marriage work... Because they are strong and keeping the country afloat... Wow! Just WOW!
@SerenityNoww And to add to that, I think it's just as unconstitutional to say Muslim prayers during class time in a public school as it is to say Christian, Jewish, or Hindu prayers. Nice try, Debbie.
"So long as you don't impose your beliefs on other people" Stephen Smith. Yet he seems to forget that it usually christians that try and force their beliefs on others.
No wonder she's an irrational black woman.

As it is, we are arguing that no religious, nor non-religious, assertion be made within the Pledge. Although if we are honest with ourselves then we should all admit that the true God of the pledge of allegiance is Nationalism, and it's relationship to the ongoing wars and occupations by the U.S. (the pledge was firmly re-established simultaneously with the invasion of Afghanistan) means it is a tool of imperialistic indoctrination, which is why we should ban the Pledge altogether.
eyeofthesquirrel 10 months ago
And for anyone who is self-deluding enough to think that demanding the removal of the words "Under God" from the pledge of allegiance is an imposition of Atheism within schools, please consider this---the words "Under God" are themselves an imposition of Christian beliefs and violate the rights of every non-christian in the school system, if atheists were attempting to replace those words with "Without a God", then you might have a point.
eyeofthesquirrel 10 months ago

Your argument is invalid.

Darfasti 1 year ago
Debbie Schlussel hates Muslims so much (I used to hear her on Howard during "Shock and Awe" days) that she's so gravitated the opposite way she's become a Jew for Jesus. There are many atheists who do not like Islam, but because Christianity is so reliably bigoted against Islam, they are her friends and everyone else can suck it. She's blinded by her own ideology.

Of the three panelists, Stephen A. is the only one who conducted himself admirably. The women made themselves to appear to the typical type of religious person we have to deal with all the time. Arrogant, ignorant, and desiring to impose their belief system on our country. They should be ashamed of themselves...
bwconklin 1 year ago 2
@bwconklin No, he conducted himself less disgracefully, he still agreed that America is a Christian nation, which is utter bullshit. I agree, that at least he had the sense to recognize that atheist have just as much right to speak about their beliefs without being attacked as anyone else. Prayer in schools though, during school time? This is the very definition of pushing your religious views on non-believers...and it's unconstitutional in a public school.
