British engineering at it's finest, they destroyed 20 Argentine planes in the Falklands in air to air combat without losing a single one.

You have to be intensely tough to be a Royal Marine, almost superhuman compared to the rest of the populace, and those 32 weeks are very good at culling the herd. You'll also need to quit smoking!
Some people say that in order to do this, you either gota be brave, crasy, or both. Well I agree with the bravery, somewhat. But I beleive that in ordeer to go through with that kind of work, you gota have two things: A helluva lot of love for your country, and the determination to go through with what the Army brings. @AlexInnelv Ofcourse they had things like UAV's and body armour etc etc, yes your correct in saying we have better technology nowadays, but if all this 'awesome body armour' was really that efficent we would of been out of Afghanistan years ago, Russias army is monstrous, if they didnt get through it with there masses of troops and tanks, then what hope do we have?

@o0oDubSTEPAddicto0o This is a war of hearts and minds. People from Iran, Pakistan and other countries emigrate to Afghanistan each day to fight ISAF and the western world. No matter how awesome equipment we have, we can't win. Kill 10 and 1000 new join the fight. At least the equipment makes it easier to survive and set up more and more DMZ's.

@o0oDubSTEPAddicto0o numbers doesn't confer an advantage, especially not in a war with no front lines. The thing that holds us back is the fact we have our hands tied by the stupid ROE, I hate it when people compare us to the soviets... they were under trained troops with mass amounts of tanks, artillery and men. Their huge numbers being their only advantage, as long as you have enough bullets you could beat an armed force like that

having seen some of the injuries of troops on the news it's really made me realize this isn't a good idea joining up. Current medical technology just isn't good enough i'm afraid. YOu have to ask you're self do you really wanna get shot. This is just creating suffering for people.

Sorry, i couldn't serve as my shoulder was broken 4 times playing rugby between 18 and 21 yrs old and my right arm was broken right through and is still not better just 1,5 yrs ago. So this question might be stupid, but is this training or real combat footage?

The old Marines v Paras thing. Boring! My granddad was a Marine when the Paras got set up and he ended up training for the airbourn himself (he bust his ankle and got kicked out). He considered the Paras a ‘bloody good idea’ and ended up in the same ditches and hedgerows as them during the d-day landings. He always took the piss out of them but never was nasty or disrespectful of what they could or had done.
