  • Never released on cd ...I have this album..Its one of the best ,of all the James Brown Family albums. Thanks for posting,,,,, top notch shit!!!

  • Man! What a goove. Normally hear Fred on a James Brown or CTI album. There's more to Fred Wesley than meets the eye or ears.

  • Show me how a full man plays!!

  • wonderful! //*_*\\

  • It's not the needle... it's the vinyl

  • I would like to download Little Boy Black, how do I do it???

  • damn bro buy a new needle

  • @gtoring needle isn't the issue...vinyl makes that kind of noise after awhile...People who sample sometimes ADD "Needle Noise" to their recordings to make them sound more autentic!!...Just the nature of working with vinyl....

  • @gtoring it's NOT the needle... it's the vinyl

  • @gtoring The crackling is authentic...that's that official ish!!! LOL...

  • Rap goes back to the 1930's. The first underground rapper to hit pay dirt was "Blow Fly" Clarence Ried, the song writer/singer/entertainer that wrote The Cleanup Woman for Betty Wright. We used to play Blow Fly's dirty ass rap in 1969-1970, etc, on the bus, on our way to Terman Juniur High School, Palo Alto, CA. What you may call new is old stuff revamped and commercialized.

  • so,if Blofly was making rap in 60's and 1980 , 'dirty rap' did not in 1965!So,why rap dirty came up only 1980? I bielive in your words, if you show for us any evidence's

  • probably the first Rap-song ever! And still smokin`...

  • george clinton is from New Jersey

  • thank funk for hip hop.

This record is a little fucked haha, mines pretty nice condition.

  • This groove is loosely based off a tune called "Down and Out in New York City" by James Brown from the Black Caesar soundtrack.

  • Sounds like "Down in Out in New York City" only funkier.

  • James and George are about the same age. George (Parliaments)released I Wanna Testify in i959, the year after James released Please, Please , Please. They were both originally Doo Wop crooners. Their styles overlap. They used the same musicians. They recorded a duet "Bring the Funk on Down," that was released on a compiliation minus James vocals. George is "The Godfather of Funk." James is "The Godfather of Soul." And do not ever forget Chuck Brown. Chuck and George are both out of D.C.

  • george clinton is from nc, not dc

  • were did funk come from? clinton or jame brown?

  • James Brown.

  • funkin awsome!!

  • Just one of the greatest songs ever..!

  • Classic! So ahead of its time. Probably the first Rap song ever...

  • @tomkowo I'm w/ you I'd say the first rap I know of came from the JBs.

  • Thanks for the upload. This is a good commercial from the Superfly era featuring James brown. Please upload'The JB's "Funky Music is My Style" if you got it.

  • it takes me 10 years to find this track :D

    Keep Funkin'

  • Sho is funky!!!!!
