I think his final song choice was the best of all six of the night. You do not need to shout to get your story accross within a song even if your a rock singer. He did very well for himself. And don't even get me started on Taylor Hicks and Jordin Sparks now that we can call David Cook the IDOL :)

Derek, I've said it before and I'll say it again, part of the AI season for me was listening to your critiques. Thank you so much for the work and time you devoted to this, it's much appreciated. I agree with you totally, we couldn't have asked for more from David last night. The only let down of the night for me, was that the judges were so biased. For Simon to call his first performance "Phenomenal" only to turn and give DA the round, left me discouraged and more then a little confused. LY

David Cook sang each of those songs how he wanted because he didn't have to prove himself to anyone to get the votes.

If the poeple out there who call themselves his fans are real, then they will understand why he choose the last song and really did it for just himself.
